Meh.
I'm having a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. I feel uneasy--my legs are restless, and I feel quivery and jumpy, like I've had excessive amounts of caffeine--but I haven't.
Funny. I slept half the day away yesterday and not at all today. Yet, i went to bed at about 12:30, and I slept fitfully for about 2 1/2 hours. I petted the cat for a while and tossed and turned. Finally I decided the only thing to do was to sit up and write a little and get all this shit out of my head.
I have no idea why I should feel so restless and anxious. There is no reason. None.
And I don't think any odd weather system is passing through.
I suppose it could be the mind control rays that the Bush machine is beaming onto all of us. Heh heh. I'm probably allergic to them.
:P
God, the state of our country is so depressing. I know we are still a lot better off than a lot of places, but yikes. It seems like we are turning into a fascist state, and the worst thing isn't that we are--it's that SO MANY of us think it is just fucking GREAT that it's happening.
Welcome to AmeriKa. Scary.
If I were younger and didn't have so many bills and so little money, I think I'd consider moving to another country. At least until the idiocy dies down.
Arg.
Well, I can't think of anything else to say. Guess I'll play Sims until I feel like I can sleep again.
Bye.

(Anonymous) 2006-07-31 02:36 am (UTC)(link)This is Pat. I just finished watching the movie, Secondhand Lions...you remember you told me to watch it, about two years ago I think. It was, as expected, very good. Had be weeping like a...well...I mean those darn allegies were really acting up. I think that film will stick with me for a long time. I have seen so many totally forgettable 90 minute segments of mere sound and movement that I have pretty much given up expecting to actually ever again see a powerful, artful film. Anyway, I found it very moving.
Also, I send you my sympathies on Mel G. You must be in shock and griefing now. The drinking...well, I can not hold that against him...but I never took him for antisemitic. Why is there so much hatred in this world anyway? And why does virtually every other person one runs into hate Jews? Kinda makes me want to buy a Jewish Flag and fly it in my yard. I was very disappointed to read his comments. I still like him of course, but disappointed still.

I was happy that he apologized for what he said.
Secondhand Lions was an awesome movie. I'm glad you finally got around to watching it.
Take care of those allergies, now!
Hugs!
