Hi, I was checking out someone who friended me to make sure I was willing to be friended (make sense? ;) ) and I usu check out their friends to get a feel for them. I saw your post about waiting on your first UI check and had to write. I work for LA UI agency in the call center and frequently recommend this site for online job searches: www.linkup.com - it's NOT LinkedIn, the networking site. It's just an aggregator site, you enter your zip and the range you're willing to go and it goes out to the websites of companies in your area w help wanted pages and lists them out for you. You follow the link back to the employer's website so you can check them out to see if you're really interested and apply from their site. LinkUp doesn't require any personal info so you aren't going to get slammed w spam. The value of it comes from the fact that you get listings you might not otherwise happen across. I've only verified it in the Baton Rouge area but the jobs were legit here. And you can use it across the states, so if you decide to look for jobs in Phoenix AZ, you just enter the zip code and sit in the comfort of your home checking out jobs some miles away.
