The weekend.
As usual, the weekend went by way too fast.
It snowed Friday night and into Saturday, so I did not go anywhere until after 7 pm on Saturday night. I went to Jim and DeAnn's for supper and to watch "How Green Was My Valley." Swayzers was so darn cute. He was shy at first, but then he warmed up and kept coming to talk to me and hand me books and toys. He told me that Bah and Pah were upstairs. (Bear and Patsy)...lol.
Before I went to their house, I did some cleaning and picking up in the house. I did a load of laundry and baked a big batch of chocolate chip cookies. I bagged up about 2/3rds of them and took them to Jim and DeAnn's house.
This morning, I got up reasonably early for a Sunday morning and went directly to Owatonna to Walmart where I bought groceries. I was going to buy a small pillow for my knee to rest against while I drive. Every bump and dip in the road joggles my knee and makes it hurt. My knee hurt a lot today. It may be time to get another cortizone injection.
I made roast beef with potatoes, onions, and carrots when I got home. I put it in the oven on low while DeAnn and I went to see the movie "New in Town." It was cute, but terribly improbable and very predictable..
NOTE TO ALL CONCERNED:
MINNESOTANS DO NOT TALK LIKE THAT, ACT LIKE THAT, OR LOOK LIKE THAT.
When I got home, I threw another load of laundry in. I also made baked chicken and rice with onion, celery, and carrot. It smelled really good. I didn't taste it as I was full after eating some of the roast beef.
I don't have much else to say at the moment.
I'm tired and it is after 10pm, so I should go to bed and sleep.
When I get home from school tomorrow, I will try to maintain enough energy to finish the laundry and perhaps vacuum. I did not get that done this weekend.
I am tired.
I definitely need to sleep. I will put away my clean clothes first, however. I already filled my pill cadddies for the week.
Well, good night all.
I saw Taken.
We'll see Slumdog next week.
I got nothing done over the weekend because I was moving in to my "new" car. I bought a used 2008 Prius with all of the bells and whistles except for leather. I don't like leather seats. I'll have the armrests only covered in leather.
Why you may ask?
Well, I want to sell my old car that has nothing extra except side curtain airbags because it has California HOV lane stickers. That means you can drive in the carpool lane all by yourself. These stickers ran out in 2006 and are in high demand in Los Angeles. They're good for 2 years but are losing value with each passing month. I wanted to sell in November but then the economy tanked and I had to wait. I had to buy now because Arnold was getting ready to raise the sales tax. I really wanted a new 2009 but the closest Spectra Blue Prius was in Arizona and I would have had to pay an extra $400 with no guarantee the car would arrive before the sales tax went up. So I missed Obama's stimulus tax break but I did get a really good deal before the sales tax went up.
I spent the weekend moving everything out of my old car and on/in to the new. Today I finished sewing on the leather steering wheel cover.
I still have a few things to do before I sell the other car. Like write down all of my radio stations and reprogram my new car. I have to replace the rear bumper cover because I backed into a planter at my old school and put a dent in the corner. And I have to remove the leather armrest covers and clean the entire car inside and out; vacuum, remove gummy residue, clean, condition, etc. The outside need work too. I need to clean, clay, buff and wax. And I need to touch up scrapes. I'm hoping to get at least $16,000 for it. I'm considering putting it on eBay so I might get more. If eBay doesn't work out, I'll list it on the L.A. Craig's list.
I'll use the money to pay off an AARP credit card through Chase I'm getting rid of. They raised my rate for NO REASON. So I'm kissing them off. My credit union has a fixed rate credit card and that will be my only one from now on.
Anything left over, plus any income tax refund will either pay off the credit union credit card or go toward paying off the car. The car is at 5.25% for 4 years but I think I can pay it off early. Especially if I pass National Boards Dec. 2010.
And I still have some stuff I need to buy. I bought mudguards on eBay real cheap. I need to get trim strips for both sides to protect against door dings. Everything else can wait. (I want to install an engine block heater like my old car has. Unfortunately, not removeable. That can wait until next winter.)
Someday, I'd like to have it tinted too. It's So. Cal after all. But that will have to wait. I'm even considering a trim kit for the inside but I don't want it to look like an old lady car. I'm thinking....maybe ebony zebra. The titanium burl looks too fake and too much like my parents' old caddy.)

I saw Taken in the theater and I liked it a lot.
I would love to be able to say to some bad guys, "I will look for you. I will find you. And I will kill you."
And then do it.
Mwa ha ha!
I have not seen slumdog Millionaires, but I want to.
