Snow Day Tomorrow?????
It seems likely.
Kingsland has already closed for tomorrow.
We are supposed to be getting an inch an hour all night. I'll have to locate someone to plow out my driveway. Currently, they are saying 6 to 10 inches, and wind.
If we have a snowday, I will bake cookies. Chocolate chip cookies for Jim and DeAnn and oatmeal raisin cookies to send to my friend Michael. He loves those.
This will be our first snowday of the school year. I love snow days.
Not much happened today.
I got a ton of correcting done at school today. I have a few more to do--the Green Mile compositions and the "Ghost hunting" compositions from Senior Seminar. I have to make the evaluation sheets for them before I correct them. Once I get started it will not take long.
My secret santa did not give me anything today. Boo. I always give to my secret santa EVERY DAY--sometimes two or three times in a day.
Susan and I left school just a little early because she saw that it was freezing drizzle in Faribault and didn't want to get caught in it half way home. I considered asking her to stop at the grocery store so I could buy some bacon--I've been really hungry for bacon and eggs--but I didn't.
I could probably get some here at the Motor Mart. Maybe.
If it isn't godawful tomorrow, I will venture out and get bacon, some chips, and a movie.
When I got home, I turned on my tree and sat in my chair to look at it. I fell asleep in my chair and was even dreaming random weird chair-nap dreams.
My friend Lisa called and woke me up, otherwise I might still be there asleep now. I sewed a bit on my fairy-motif dresses before eating some warmed up KFC chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a biscuit. I had coleslaw with it, and a big glass of water. I would have liked a big piece of chocolate cake too, but alas, no such thing exists in my house.
Not much else is new.
I am thinking of my dear sweetpea Papillion tonight and hoping and praying that he and his sweet family are doing well and that they are getting fired up for the Christmas holidays.
I am happy with my little tree. I haven't strung my popcorn and cranberries yet, but maybe tomorrow if there is a snow day, I can do it then.
well, I am getting very sleepy, so I guess it is time to go to sleep.
Good night all. Sweet dreams.

don't you WISH you were my secret santa????
Correct me if I'm wrong...
As for bacon....did you know you can freeze it? You can't freeze it raw (at least not with much success) but you can freeze it cooked. I like my bacon really, really crispy. Burnt almost. And I found that if I microwave it almost like I like it....I can then freeze it. Then when I heat it up in the microwave it's perfect. I think microwave bacon is so much better than frying it on the stove in a pan. I can put it on paper towels and soak up all of the grease as it cooks. I hate greasy meat. I always blot my pizzas and skim my soup.
I've opted out of secret Santa.
One year I got the one person on campus I really detested. She hated me for no good reason, sight unseen before she even met me. She treated me rudely upon acquaitance and subsequently so I didn't much care for her. But I sucked it up and did my best to give her something really nice every day. Not one word of thanks from her when our identities were revealed and she continued to treat me like sh¡t. And my secret Santa didn't give me very much. Very disappointing. So I've escued the hypocritical stuff. If I can choose, fine. If it's draw of the hat, forget it. And now I'm split between two schools so I'm never there for anything and usually overlooked and left out. Each Christmas party is the week I'm at the *other* site.
If I was snowed in I would knit and crochet. Or needlepoint. There is something about cold and rain (or snow in your case) that makes me want to work with yarn.
Re: Correct me if I'm wrong...
I have had a couple of real duds for secret santa in my life time, but so far, I have still joined in each year.
One year I had SUCH a crappy secret santa that I kept all the pathetic shit she gave me with the sole intent of giving it all back to her should I ever draw HER name....sadly, I was so appalled by the shitty, useless final gift she gave me that I threw it in the garbage.
Yes, I had a fit of pique.
I have been feeling the urge to crochet an afghan again. I have a ton of yarn, which I should do something productive with.
