Weird Dreams--as usual
Jan. 4th, 2009 10:09 amI've been having strange dreams again. (perhaps I should say "as usual.")
Tonight I dreamt I was at some sort of fair. There was a huge grandstand, and the crowd was so dense that I felt like the 10th pig in a pen big enough to hold only 7 pigs. Some guy was walking around dressed up in WW II flight suit. He had that funny little hat with the goggles and the strap was hanging down the way it always does in the movies. He was wearing a scarf around his neck (not red) and a pair of black gloves.
Every time he walked by me, I would get excited and remark to whomever I was with that he would be "shooting down the bloody Baron later this afternoon." A couple of times I made comments to the guy himself and he gave me that tolerant smile that "nice" celebrities give to rabid fans that are uncouth enough to break into their personal life but are not raving mad lunatics.
At some point in the dream, I realized I was making an ass of myself and settled down. I still felt excited every time I saw the guy. But I didn't jump all over him like an excited puppy.
At some point I ran into Theresamae, and she said she was starving. I told her that I had just bought some bacon, and would she like to eat some of that. She said we could go to her brother's house to cook it and that he probably had some bacon and eggs too.
So, we went there, and she began cooking the bacon. Then, I don't remember how, but we were out on the fair grounds again. We were walking through some sort of big conference building and a bunch of men in modern military garb were sitting around a table having a serious discussion. I got the gist that something was amiss, but I didn't know what. I just knew that I suddenly did not want to be at this fair any more.
At some point, I remembered that we were supposed to be eating bacon and eggs, and I asked Theresamae if she had left the fire on at her brother's house as we never did finish cooking the bacon and eggs. I had images of bacon burnt to a crisp and her brother's apartment being filled with stinky, greasy smoke.
That's about all I remember of the dream except for there was a big gently sloping hill behind the grandstand, and it seemed important to me to get to that hill. Don't know why.
On New Year's Eve night, I dreamed that the exema I've been having issues with had spread all over my face and that most of my face was all red and lumpy looking and raw. Yuck.
A night or two after that, I had one of those damned post-apocalyptic dreams.
There were a huge group of survivors and me. We had taken refuge in some caves that were very clean and almost man-made looking. In the center of one of the large rooms, there was a deep hole with a spiral staircase leading down to a bunch of caves deeper below--lots of long, dark, narrow passageways. I was uneasy about this hole and was always in its general vicinity keeping an eye on it.
My sister Kim was in the dream--and she wasn't the beaten down, no-self-confidence, afraid to speak up for herself woman that her asshole, alcoholic husband has turned her into. She was the "I'll-kick-your-ass-for-you" girl she used to be. She had gone down into that hole and was exploring the caverns with a group of people. I had tried to talk her out of it and tell her it was too dangerous, but she was very confident that she could handle whatever came her way.
Sadly, the dream has faded from my mind, and all i have are some scattered remnants and I'm not even sure what order they should go in. Someone brought me three infants that had just been born. They were concerned because the babies did not look normal. When I looked at them, they were three males--and they looked like fully grown men, only tiny like babies. One of them was bigger than the other two. The other two were sleeping and looked weak. The third one was aggressive and fiesty. He kept strugglng and squirming. We finally had to separate him from his two brothers as he seemed intent on hurting them. He creeped me out.
There was a very long, very wide shelf against one wall. On it were tons of white blankets, white towels, and white rags, all pretty battered, but all neatly folded and placed on this long shelf. I put the babies on this shelf on the blankets and covered them up. The third, agressive and creepy baby I separated and put on a lower shelf. He was pissed at being separated from his brothers, but was too weak to do anything about it other than yell and wave his fists around.
At some point after this, a thing came through one of the openings to the cave from the outside world. It was very short and sort of square. It was pale green and had eyes up on top of it's body--it did not seem to have a head--or perhaps it was ALL head--but it had legs and a big mouth in the center of it's torso. It was ugly and evil. I could tell it was evil, and I just "knew" it was going to hurt people. It sort of charged at a few individuals, and I hustled around the end of the shelf where I had been attending to those odd babies, and confronted it. It had a very long tongue and it moved awkwardly because it had very short legs.
It sort of rushed me, and I grabbed it and slammed it down on the floor. It tried to swarm me, and I just kept slamming it on the floor and stomping on it. Once, it managed to kind of climb up onto my chest, and I grabbed it and bit it on the top of its head. I was disgusted and felt that it was dirty, but I bit it anyway. After a while, I knew it was done. It had given up, but I kept beating it and beating it until it was nothing but a semi-transparent scrap of tissue. It looked a little like a deflated balloon. One of the idiots picked it up and sniffed it.
I said, "DON'T! Don't let any part of it inside you--even the smell!" Then the damn fool tasted it. Why???? Who knows.
He turned pale and got very ill--but I didn't have time to pay attention to him as I noticed that a woman standing near the opening where the thing had come in was standing there with her tongue hanging out of her mouth--but her tongue was incredibly long--probably two feet.
I knew that one of those things had gotten inside her, and I didn't know how to get it out. I grabbed the tongue, which I now understood was ITS tongue, and tried to pull it out, but the woman resisted and struggled. I felt hopeless like I knew that there was nothing I could do to save her, yet I felt compelled to TRY.
It was about then that I woke up.
Strange dreams.
I don't usually win when I am fighting monsters in my dreams, so it was quite a victory to have beat that damned monster to a fragment. My primary thought as I was killing it was, "Oh, HELL no, you are NOT going to eat anyone here."
Well, that's it for now.
