It's a "nothing special" day.
Jun. 29th, 2011 01:31 amI can't seem to get to sleep earlier than 2 or 3 am these days. Then I am unable to crawl out of bed until 10:30 or so. I don't know what my problem is.
I had my appointment with Bonnie today. We discussed my meeting with Jay again--she feels he was not honest with me...I discovered that I feel betrayed. I would have stood up for him to the bitter end. I would have fought for him at the expense of my own job. I feel like he did not fight for me at all.
I don't think it was easy for him to decide not to offer me a contract, but I don't think he ever considered telling those bastards to fuck off and die--that I am a good, hard working teacher that puts my heart and soul into every thing I do.
Ah, well. Spilt milk and all that shit.
After my appointment with Bonnie, I went and got my hair cut and colored. I feel like a human again. I even had my eye brows waxed--something I don't do very often. I don't feel quite so raggedy and scummy now.
To celebrate looking good, I went to Carlos O'Kelly's all by myself and had spinach and chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. I also had a strawberry mug-o-rita, which is a very small marguerita. It was so refreshing. I saved half of the meal for tomorrow and had a mini-dessert, and small empanada with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream.
On the way home, Mom called me and told me that Bert and Tammy think the cost of the vet is too much, and they won't pick it up for me. However, Joni called her vet and he said he would do them all for around $750. That is half of what the Byron vet clinic would do it for. Of course, the Byron clinic would have kept them all for 2 days to recover and get pain meds where this guy will send them home the same day. Apparently he removes the claws with lasers. Not sure how that compares to the old way, but it is supposed to be less painful, have less chance of infection, and a faster recovery time. One can only hope.
When I got home, I lay down on the couch for a while, watched part of an episode of American Pickers, and fell asleep. When I woke up, I put fabric in a suitcase as well as zip lock bags containing some of my Tonner doll shoes. I had to pee, so I shut everything off down stairs and came upstairs. I pulled out two shallow sterlite containers and discovered that the contents was all Barbie dolls. So, I packed them up in walmart bags that arenot as heavy or as awkward as the totes. I know that there are dolls in there that I will not want to keep, but I don't want to make any rash decisions right now.
