Late 50s? Man, that could be a Singer 503 or even a Rocketeer!. I've been coveting a Rocketeer for years. It's possible it might be salvaged. If not, the cabinet might be worth money.

The ISMACS site can tell you make and model and such.

Sometimes if machines are frozen from just gunked up solidified grease and oil you can clean them up with WD40 or Alcohol. (Just be careful not to get it on the paint and decals). That's what my Sister did with my Grandmother's old treadle and she uses it to sew with now. She and I both hae old 5021s in original art deco desk cabinets.

The Zenith needs to go. The crib needs to go.

What does she plan on putting on top of your microwave stand in the porch? Your microwave can be stored there as easily as in the garage. My schoool microwave and refrigerator are in my garage, but then I don't get the extremes of heat and gold and humidity that you do.

If you can stick it out and survive until you age out for your retirement, you might be able to get a small apartment of your own.

After the unemployment money starts coming, you might be able to spare a dollar here and there for the lottery. One in a billion but someone wins some of the time. I haven't had a jackpot alert in weeks so haven't been buying tickets.
