Writer's Block: Adult Onset
Feb. 20th, 2009 11:55 am[Error: unknown template qotd]Truly, I don't think it is a matter of a number of years lived. I think it is the understanding that the world does not revolve around you personally--that you are a member of an intricate organism called humanity, and you realize that sometimes we must do something that we really don't want to do or not do something that we really want to do because that is the best thing for the entire group.
i think it is when people begin to see that their words and actions affect others around them and ripple outward to people they do not even know.
I think is begins when people put other people's needs ahead of their own wants.
In short, I think adulthood comes when people are no longer self-centered, selfish, and self-absorbed.
Some people Never Make It to adult hood, and some are actually really there by age 12 or so.
