Thank You, Matt Damon
Aug. 2nd, 2011 10:54 pmWe are teachers because we love to teach and we love our subject areas. We love to share our passion for our subject area with the young people we work with.
Although the state and federal government has been doing its best to grind the joy of teaching out of us for many years now....
Any how, Thanks to you, Matt Damon.
Not much going on in my life today--didn't get much done in my organizing and putting stuff away.
This morning, mom and I went to Owatonna where we ran a few errands. I had written out a few bills when I got up today. The first stop we made was at Verizon where I paid my phone bill for last month and this month. Then we swung by the post office where I dropped the rest of my bills in the drive through mailbox.
From there we went to my sister Kim's house to drop off the legs to the couch Tammy had brought down for her yesterday.
She was doing daycare, so we couldn't visit her properly.
We went on to Walmart where I bought bottled water, another case of Diet Coke, since the helpers yesterday were pretty hard on it, a bag of regular (not diet) cat food as my cats do not like the other stuff, a large container of laundry soap, some bread, some red licorice, and a couple bags of Bliss chocolates.
Oh, and I bought an adorable toy kitten for my niece's birthday, which is coming up quickly.
We were going to get some lunch at Appleby's, but the parking lot was packed, so we decided to go through the Jimmy John's drive through instead. I love Jimmy Jones. I had a hunter's club with extra dijon and no lettuce and mom had the Italian club. I like that too, but the onions in it give me indigestion.
Mom went to Jack and Kari's house to baby sit Cora while Kari and Caleb went to Owatonna to run errands and get Kari's hair cut.
I stayed home to work on the room, but I ended up taking a nap with my kitties. We had a nice snuggle fest.
Jack called and invited me for supper, so I put my clothes back on. I had put on my pjs because I was too hot. I brought part of Cora's birthday present--a cute little outfit mom bought her--so she could wear it on their vacation up north.
We had sandwiches, fresh pineapple, and corn on the cob for supper. Yummy.
Kari's friend Tina dropped off a book she had borrowed from Kari, and I looked at it. I don't know if it will be one I will enjoy that much as it seems to be just a step above a full-blown bodice ripper...but, it does involve some time travel and ghosts, so I may like it. It is set in Scotland. The title is Outlander .
The other book she lent me is Like Water for Elephants . I hear that is a really good book. I am looking forward to reading it.
That's about it for today.
No great thoughts or anything.
