The kittens had not been upstairs prior to Tuesday night--they seemed intimidated by the stairs.  Well, Tuesday night changed all that.

I had gone up to bed around 8:45--I had just peeled off my day clothes and was about to pull on the big tee shirt I wear as pajamas when I heard a horrible ROAR from downstairs.  My first thought was "What the HELL is THAT???"

Then I realized it was my vacuum cleaner.

Somehow, in their wild rumpusing, the kittens had managed to turn it on.  I suppose one body slammed another onto the turn on button, which is quite large and down near the floor as it is one you turn on by stepping on it.

So, I had to go downstairs again to turn it off.  I had wanted to vacuum the dining room earlier, but I didn't want to scare the kitties.  Well, I figured they had already scared themselves senseless, so I went ahead and vacuumed a big part of the living room where  their were crumbles of kitty litter and bits of food from when I first brought them home.

After i did that, I turned off the power strip that the vacuum was plugged into so that will not happen again and went back upstairs to bed.

I had barely crawled into bed when I heard a chorus of desperate mews coming from the stair well.  I talked to them a bit, and the chorus continued, so I went to look.  There, about three steps from the top of the stairway, were three kittens, fluffed out to maximum fluffage, and with eyes twice as big as the average dinner plate.

They all looked up at me as if to say, "Kin wez sleep up here with yuz, momma?  Dey's a muhnstah down dere."

I said,  "Well, come on up.  You can come up here.  The whole house is ours."

Well, Stewie came flying right up.  i picked him up and he nestled right into my neck and began purring like a power engine.  I took him into my bedroom and put him in bed with me.  The other two followed, mewing piteously, but not allowing me to touch them.  I put my step stool up against the bed to allow them to climb into the bed more easily--and pretty soon, all three of them were in my bed, wrestling and climbing all over me and everything else.

Peaches and Tyger Lilly attacked my toes as I wiggled them and even curled up in the crook of my knees briefly--but they wouldn't let me pet or hold them.

Stewie just snuggled and snuggled and snuggled.  He spent most of the night in bed with me, cuddling and burrowing himself down under the covers.  he is definitely a momma's boy.

They've followed me up every night since then.

They spend some time fighting and cuddling with each other in my bed before going under the bed to snooze.  They must feel safer under there.  i am going to have to find some sort of quilted kitty basket to put under there for them to sleep in.  The little goof balls.

Tyger Lilly's eyes are still pretty big here, after the vacuum cleaner incident...

She has settled down some here.  She's cleaning all the blood and guts off her paws from dispatching the lesser demons.  Momma had to be summoned to dispatch the big vacuum monster.

The Peaches and Tyger Lilly are forced to practice their monster-killing techniques on each other.

I keeeeeelz you!

Stewie chooses LOVE not war.

Tell me this is not the cutest kittie evah!!!!!

this is the morning after the terrible vacuum incident.  They appear to be not excessively traumatized.

this is the following night--they are exploring all the boxes of stuff I have been sorting through.  They have been attempting to "help" with some of the sorting by digging stuff out of the baskets and boxes and throwing it onto the floor.

These were taken last night.  Stewie is in full-out-total-relax posture.  he is a belly-rub-loving kitty, which makes me very happy.

This picture is a little fuzzy, but i thought the way that Peaches has her little paw placed lovingly on Tyger Lilly's head was just adorable.

It is a cuddle fest!!

See, they don't ALWAYS spend their time trying to kill each other....

"Let me wrap my arms around you--i could never live without you...."  (See, if I had not taken Peaches, Tyger Lilly would have been heart broken, and Peaches would have been allll alllooooooooooooone.  NoooooOOOOOoooOOOooooo)

While the sisters are snuggling with each other, Stewie snuggles with momma.

This is the line of kitties that shared my bed with me last night.  I am not sure what possessed them to put themselves in this formation, but they sure looked cute.
