The END is NEAR....
Jun. 21st, 2005 01:49 pmI am almost done going through all of my unit binders.
I just threw away one I made back in 1982 on Narrative Writing, complete with student examples from Jackie Bias and Rhonda Evenson! Man, those two were good student writers!
I chatted with Peter this morning on IM, and then with Hier, who is writing away like a good chap, I hope.
Then, I drove in to Kasson and let them suck my blood. My blood must be extra juicy today because when they stuck the needle in, it came flooding out in a stream. EW. It also hurt this time--which it seldom does--usually it is just a little poke and it's fine. Maybe the needle was dull. Could be.
I was happy that they didn't make me pee in a cup. I hate that. DO NOT READ THE NEXT SENTENCE IF EASILY GROSSED OUT. How does anyone do that WITHOUT peeing on their fingers? Inquiring minds would like to know.
I still have a big red bump on my arm. *Sniffle*
Ah, well.
At least its done.
Afterwards, I went to Perkins. I was thinking "Strawberry Waffle" the whole way, but when I got there, I figured I should have some sort of protein, since I could feel my blood sugar bottoming out big time. So I had poached eggs with hashbrowns and sausages. The waitress was really nice. She asked if I needed a box, and I said I could use a to-go box for my iced tea, which she had just refilled--it was so good I hated to leave it. But I needed to be on my way.
She said, "I can get you a 'To Go' glass!" In a moment she came back with one. When I picked it up, it was full! She said, "I gave you a fresh one." That was really nice of her. I am glad I always tip well--even if the service sucks, I tip well because I figure, those poor waitresses need all the encouragement they can get. Plus, I am not naturally bitchy about stuff like that.
The people sitting next to me who kept threatening their 3 year old with a "trip to the car" (which I am certain meant a beating by the look on the child's face whenever they said it) were more likely to get a glimpse of my "bitchy" side.
I guess that's about it for now. I have to get back to work if I'm serious about getting this stuff done today. It's just gone 2 pm.
Time goes so very fast!
Tomorrow I see Lori in Owatonna again, so I won't be coming in to school tomorrow. I might go to the Owatonna Public Library--what the heck. I haven't been there in YEARS.
