Quick Update...

Last night mom and I were invited over to Jack and Kari's house.

After I put my shoes on, I hooked my toe in the handle of my suitcase--I fell with the full force of my weight right on my knee.  Of course, it is the knee that has been giving me trouble and pain for months.  It hurt like a mother f**ker.  I was terrified that it would be wrecked and that I'd be in agony for months again.

Miraculously, it was okay.  It feels a little sore today, but not too bad. 

At Jack and Kari's we played Settlers of Catan.  In the beginning, it looked like I was going to kick-ass win...but then my numbers were never rolled, and any time someone rolled a seven they put the robber on my wood number, so I was screwed.  Bev won.  I ended up being in last place.

Ah, well.

Caleb was playing with Cora's magnetic doll.  He said he wanted one.  I said if I got to Toys R Us I would see if they had a boy one to buy for him.  they were only about $10.  I teased him, and told him he should name the doll "Magnito."  Heh heh.  He thought that was a good idea.

Kari told him that he'd have to get $9.99 from his piggy bank, and I told him I would take 50 cents off for each kiss he gave me.  He said, "How many kisses is that, mom?"

She said, "Twenty-one."

So the little punkin crawled up on my lap and gave me 21 kisses.  Then Kari told him he better give me a couple more for taxes, so he gave me about a dozen more.  He is such a funny little kid.  I was laughing so hard that he was kissing my teeth, most of the time.  I wish they'd always be as sweet as they are at five.

Cora, the little monkey, was crawling all over the floor.  She really wanted to get into my sewing box BAD, but the lid snaps on very tight.  Heh heh.

She contented herself with hanging onto the handle and banging it on the floor and squealing.

Not much going on with me today.  I've been sewing and visiting with mom.  We just had lunch, and I came down to the basement to sit in the recliner.  Then I decided I'd check on-line to see if Peter was available to play scrabble.  Alas, he isn't.

I could go and play with a stranger, but I prefer to play with people I know.

The banter and tormenting is half the fun.  :)

I had intended to go home while mom was at church but Jerry and Lily specifically invited me to their house.  So, I suppose I have to go.

Sigh.

I have so much I need to get done at home....but I suppose there's still a couple weeks before school starts.

I dread it.  There's so much I wanted to get done this summer that I just didn't accomplish.

Ah, well.  My own fault.
