Yesterday was the last day of third quarter. There are no kids here today--and grades had to be in on Wednesday, so there's none of that to do. I'm happy as a clam because next week is our spring break and I have a bazillion things I want to do during it--and the stalker will be in GERMANY, so there will be no stalking taking place during that whole week!!
Anyhow--I have a meeting to attend in about 12 minutes. I just wanted to do a quick update and also to get a few goals for the day established.
It is, presumably, a "work day" here at school, which means, beyond doubt, that we will piss at least half of it away in meetings.
I HATE meetings. I think every school would be run much more efficiently if the state would keep it's nose out and just let us teach.
BUT, this is not the time nor the place for THAT rant. i have too much to do to expend my energy in a futile pursuit like that.
Today I hope to do the following:
*Set up my attendance book for next quarter.
*Set up my grade book for next quarter. (I'm hoping to switch over to JMC, so that will consist mainly of trying to figure out how it works.)
*Get all my piles of crap sorted through, filed, disposed of, or whatever else needs to be done with them.
*Clean out and reorganize my desk drawers.
*Clean out and scrub my little microwave and refrigerator.
*Move my little toaster oven over by my desk where it is "safe" from the kids misusing it.
*Get my FTE form in to Susan.
*Get the book orders written up so I can spend a little of our surplus curriculum money.
*Clear off, clean, and organize my desk.
THAT should be MORE than enough to keep me busy for the day. Also, I need to drop some stuff off at the post office--two swaps and a couple of bills.
Later, I will have to bank my check.
I'm thinking of possibly seeing V for Vendetta before I go home today. Who knows. Maybe.
