Meh

Yesterday I ran my ass off doing a bazillion and seventeen errands.

I started off at the post office where I got all the Kelly patterns that people had asked me for sent off--I had been holding off because I didn't have any big envelopes and i had intended to get some from school--I only needed six of them, and school has crates of them.  When DeAnn and I went into Owatonna on Sunday, I picked up a package of 15 large envelopes.  It cost me 63 cents for each.  Not too bad.

I also mailed the upholstery samples off to Becky and the black vampire cape that I promised ECM AKA Kieran.  The package to New Zealand cost me over $20.  SHIT!!!  But, a promise is a promise.

The scary post office lady gave me a bag of zucchini and tomatoes.  I promised to give her my scrapbooking stuff because, let's face it, I am NEVER going to use it.  I should get my arse in gear and scan all of my pictures and get rid of all the crumbling remnants of the fucking Hallmark photo albums I spent HUNDREDS of dollars on which then all promptly FELL APART.

There's a reason I NEVER got to Hallmark.

After the Post Office, I had the dubious honor of being the first person to use the bank's Drive Through since they reopened it after the road construction.  I put my check from school in the bank.

Anyhow--I went to the eye doctor's office and had my glasses looked at.  I don't know if I mentioned that the damn things seemed to have the bifocal line too high--dead center of my vision.  To drive, watch a movie at the theater, or watch TV, I had to have my chin practically resting on my chest.  The adjustment lady tinkered around with them and whatever she did seems to have helped.  I could drive normally afterwards.

I went to the dollar store after that and bought all the little sets of dishes they had in Barbie scale since Michele in Florida wants 10 sets for her Circus Camp (I got her five sets, all mauve) and kat wants 2 blue sets (there was only ONE blue set).  The clerk at the dollar store said she would put them on the order for next time.  I'll have to keep checking back.  They are really nice for a buck a set!  I also picked up some more of those mini barrettes as they look great in the hair of my tiny dolls and a padded envelope to send Little g's wooden books out to her.

After that, I went to the other dollar store which is just around the corner to see if THEY had those little dishes (of course not) and ended up buying some stuff for my homeroom's "Welcome Back" package--some miniature candy bars and some pens, a little three drawer organizer (it was much cheaper than the ones I've been buying at Walmart) and another one of those shoe boxes with the handle.  I use those things constantly.

Then I stopped at The Cotton Patch, which is a cute little fabric store downtown for quilters.  I was looking for some cute Halloween fabric with a small print for Kathy and Tonya's Octoberfest celebration.  I ended up getting a yard of some really cute fabric with little witch hats on it and a contrasting orange fabric for the trim.  I also bought a few fat quarters of vintage reproduction fabric with very small print.  It will make adorable clothes for my little dollies..

After that, I went and got a whole trunk full of groceries at HyVee.  I bought cherries and hard rolls and milk and orange juice and four 6-packs of Diet Coke and hamburger and chicken and a roast and butter and six "lunchables" for when I'm upstairs working and don't feel like going downstairs to eat and bunches of other stuff.  It was all healthy stuff too.  We'll see if I eat it or let it rot in the refrigerator, as usual.

I had planned to go to Perkins for a meal since I hadn't eaten all day--and I was starting to feel "weird"--but as freaking HOT as it was, I knew all those groceries would ROT if I left them in the car even a little while.  So, I went through the drive through at Taco Johns and got a beef burrito, small ole's, and a GIANT ice tea.  That ice tea was incredibly refreshing.  The burrito was unimpressive.  The ole's were kind of cold.

BUT, after eating the stuff I didn't feel that "weird" low blood sugar thing any more.

I had so much shit to haul in from the car when I got home--I bought a watermelon too--that it took me about 20 minutes to get it all into the house and put away.  Then I was about to expire, so I staggered upstairs and to take a tepid bath because I was all sticky and sweaty and I thought a nice cool bath would help me cool down.

While my bath water was running, I talked to Kari, my sister in law, on the phone.  I wanted to know if she had contacted her brother's girl friend about the bags of large sized clothes I have in my trunk.  If she doesn't want to look at them, I want to dump them off in Kasson and be done with them.  They've filled up most of my trunk atm.

She didn't know yet as Kevin (her brother) hadn't got back to her, but she did tell me that the sweet corn in the field that we intend to plunder is ripe and the only day that The Momma has available to freeze it is TODAY (Tuesday).  So, I said I would come and help freeze it.  I do not want to help PICK it as the corn leaves cut my skin and make it swell up.  I must be allergic to something that's on or in the leaves.  It doesn't bother me to husk the corn.

I didn't really WANT to go to Ellendale today, but...that sweet corn will taste awfully good this winter.  And I am looking forward to eating a few ears of corn today.  *droool*

I only need about 10-15 bags.  I wish I could get about 7 more bags of green beans.  I froze all the ones that Kari gave me that she picked at Lily and Jerry's house while they were on vacation.  I got three bags out of it.  I like green beans.

I'd like to get about 20 bags of tomatoes too.  I use those in EVERYTHING.

I talked to DeAnn and we are going to try to do a Harry Potter marathon on Thursday.  She's going to get a vegetarian pizza and I am going to make something for dessert--I'm thinking about making Grandma Harpel's oatmeal bars.  I will post the recipe on here when I dig it up.  Seriously--they are BLISS.

Dean Lilya also called.  He needs help on something for college (he's already started at Brown) and is coming over to my house on Friday afternoon at 1 pm.

I played Sims for a couple of hours, chatted with a friend on IM for a while, then went to bed.

The cat woke me up by yowling this morning.  I wanted to sleep at least until 9.  Fat chance.

When I went to the bathroom, I discovered that I had something brown all over my hand.  It was melted chocolate.  I also had it all over my hip and side.  Apparently there was a small Dove candy in my bed and I slept on top of it.  It melted and got all over me and WORSE, all over my sheets.  so I have already stripped my bed, and my sheets are at the bottom of the stairs waiting to be thrown into the washer.  Disgusting.

Nothing else is new.

I figured I'd write a big update since the damn cat woke me up anyhow.
