A couple of things--
Apr. 10th, 2008 11:48 amFirst, today I did something I have never, ever done before. I called my clinic and begged my doctor's nurse for drugs. They know I am serious when I beg to be drugged to kill the pain. My knee has been driving me mental for weeks and I think I have finally reached the breaking point. You know when you burst into tears because it hurts so bad, that it is time for the effing thing to be hacked off and replaced with a peg leg. I'll get a parrot. I can be a pirate.
I have given serious consideration to calling in sick EVERY DAY this week because it hurts soooo bad. Maybe I will tomorrow.
I am hoping my doctor will come through with some kind of pain med for me.
I saw my chiropractor yesterday and she did major adjustments on me. My back and hip were much less sore when she was working on me yesterday. My knee actually didn't hurt for a few minutes (even when I walked on it) when she got done yesterday. But when I woke up this morning, it was stiff and swollen. And it effing hurts.
When I am in this much pain I am grumpy with the kids and can't focus on getting my work done.
I have sick days. I should take one. You think?
Especially since I am supposed to do the store tomorrow and even the thought of standing on it for 30 minutes or so makes me want to cry.
ah, well. I have to hobble to the bathroom to pee now. When I come back, I will post some pictures of my recent sewing attempts.

I sent this to my swap partner for a "birthday party" them. My theme was fairies.
I made the dress and the wings. I loved the wings. I want to make more sets soon for my own dolls.

I found these child sized printable fairy princess crowns on line. I shrank them to LeeAnn size, colored them, laminated them, cut them out and put strings of embroidery floss in the back to tie them on.
I also parted with one of my six fairy necklaces that one of my net doll collector friends made for me. I have to learn how to make that sort of thing for myself. I want all my Marley sized girls to have fairy necklaces. I want to do a "dolly story" of their "We Believe" club for the support and preservation of Fairies. LOL

Two things here--first is the "Queen of the Fairies" crown (which I got in the bridal section of Walmart. It was attached to a comb, presumably for a human to wear--though it is very tiny. I pried the comb part off with my pliers and put it on LeeAnn. I need to buy another for myself. It was nearly $6.00. Not cheap, but not horribly expensive either.
Second is the fairy wand. I found the "jewel" on line in the same place as the paper crowns. I shrank it, colored it, laminated it, cut it out, and then glued it onto a coffee stir-stick. Finally, I sewed on multi-colored narrow ribbon streamers. I think they turned out very darling. I made six of the paper crowns and six of the fairy wands. I figured my partner's LeeAnn's party guests would like little party favors to take home.

Here is the dress on its own. I did not give my partner the white tights. I got the fabric for the dress in Detroit. They had it only in "fat quarters." I bought two of them and wish now that I had bought all four. I want to make each of my Tonner Marleys a "fairy dress."

This is not part of the swap--but I am trying to make a "Tinkerbelle" tee-shirt for each of my Marley girls from these little things which are actually scrapbooking items from Jolee. Stupid scrapbooking stores around here do not carry the large line of them. I've only found them in Walmart and ONLY two kinds--the "I Believe" pink Tinkerbelle shirt and the "100% Princess" shirts. Also pink. I got a couple on Ebay that have another view of Tink and they say "SPOILED."
I haven't converted either of those yet, but I will. Oh, yes, I will.
mwa ha ha.
