I got up early yesterday, not because i wanted to but because one of my idiot friends called me at the crack of dawn, and once I was awake, I had to pee, and once I was in the bathroom, I figured I may as well brush my teeth, and once my teeth were brushed, I was up for the day.

I had a package to mail--it was the flower power swap for the LeeAnn doll group.  I thought I made an extra cute little item this time.

First you see the little flowered top and yellow shorts.  The next picture is of the tiny watering can I bought at the Kasson Variety Store and some tiny packets of flower seeds.  The watering can didn't have holes in the spout, so I drew them in with a fine line permanent marker.  I think they look realistic from a distance.  I found pictures of flower seed packets via Google Image Search.  I copied and pasted them onto a word document and shrank them down to doll size.  Then, I cut them out, folded the paper so they looked like they had substance, and glued them shut.  Last but not least is my LeeAnn doll, Pixie Lee, modeling the outfit next to the watering can so you can see the proportions.  I wish I had made the top just a little shorter.  But, it's still cute, I  think.

When I got to the post office, I discovered that my own "flower power" swap had arrived.

I got a pair of yellow shorts, a purple flowered top, a hat, and a cute little flower arrangement in a miniature metal watering can.  Great minds think alike, I guess.  This watering can is a little out of scale, but what the hey.  It's cute as a button.  The hat is a lot cuter on than it looked like it would be when I opened the package.  i wasn't sure what it was supposed to be at first.  Then I figured it out.  Heh heh.

When I fed my cat yesterday morning, I realized she was almost out of food.  So, I decided I would run to the vet clinic in Byron, which is open till noon on Saturdays, and buy her another bag of her Hill's prescription food.  It's $30+ for a 10 lb bag.  I'm not sure Miss Puke-Ball is worth it, but I bought it for her regardless.

Ingrid had called earlier and wanted me to go to breakfast with her on Sunday as she worked in Owatonna on Sunday morning.  I told her that the price of gas was so high that it didn't seem smart to go all the way to Owatonna again, since I was going to meet my mom and my sister for lunch and a movie.

She sounded a little hurt about me turning her down, so while I was at the post office, I called her on my cell phone and invited her to ride along, so she did.  She wanted to stop at Erdman's for some groceries, so I stopped and let her get what she needed.  I didn't go in because I didn't plan to go back home, and I was going to be gone for several hours as it was my mom's birthday.  I did have Ingrid pick me up a flowering plant to give my mom for her birthday.  She picked out a very pretty one.

I was supposed to meet them in Owatonna at the Chinese buffet and then go to see Baby Mama.  But by the time I got back to West Concord to drop off Ingrid, it was already 11:15, which was the time I was supposed to be there meeting them.  Just as I was dropping off Ingrid, DeAnn called and wanted to do something.  I invited her to go along with to the movie, but she thought Baby Mama might be too depressing because of the whole baby theme, with her adoption from Guatamala being delayed and delayed and delayed.  So, I suggested she just come along, take my car and go shopping and then she and I could go see Forgetting Sarah Marshall later.

That's what we did.  Baby Mama was pretty funny.  Predictable, but funny.  Mom, Kim and I had a nice time.  Then there was an hour and forty minutes till the next movie, so DeAnn and I went to Appleby's and I had dinner after all.  I had their cowboy burger which was good except for the barbeque sauce they had slathered over it.  Yuck.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a lot more risque than I expected it to be.  In the very beginning of the movie, there were brief but repeated full frontal nudity shots of the male lead.  EEK.  Not every day that I see a big old penis dangling free like that.  There were some very funny parts in that too.  A lot of sexual innuendo as well.  It was a little uncomfortable to watch it, but not so bad that it made me feel icky.

Except for all the penis shots.

Those were pretty icky.

After the movie, DeAnn and I went to Culvers and got ice cream.  She's into vanilla ice cream with bananas on it, and I had my usual--a turtle sundae.  I drove to Mineral Springs park, and we sat there and ate out ice cream and watched  the river, which was a bit high.  I love to watch a body of water in motion.

After dropping off DeAnn, I went home, took my meds, and got ready for bed, even though it was only 7:30.  My friend Mike from Michigan called and told me that the forest fire had got to within 6 miles of his aunt and uncle's property, and that he had spent the day cutting down trees and stuff.  He was really tired, but said he wanted to call and check in on me and tell me he loved me.  Awwww.  He is a big old sweetie.

I went through my doll collecting email on the yahoo groups, looked at what was up for sale on Ebay in the areas  that I am interested in, but didn't bid on anything.  I am going to try to conserve money and pay down my debts as much as possible.  I'd like to do some selling on Ebay myself, but it is pretty slow out there right now.  Nothing is really moving.

I was so tired that I couldn't even keep my eyes open, so at about 9:30 I turned out the lights and went to sleep.
