Caleb's GI Joe Barracks

There was only room in the barracks for three beds. I don't know what a barracks actually looks like, but neither does Caleb, so I guess it works well enough for a kid's imaginary barracks.

The floor is contact paper and the walls are sand colored duct tape. I printed an American flag and some other stuff off for wall decoration. Note the pin-up girl on the wall is a sexay Barbie. LOL. I figure GI Joe dudes need a pretty girl to look at--not just patriotic propaganda.

I looked up GI Joe images on Google, and I found this cool map of a GI Joe base of some kind. I thought it would look nice on the wall. Then there were a couple of GI Joe posters that I also copied and pasted.

I laminated all the wall art with clear contact paper and glued it to the walls.

The map on the wall came from the GI JOE google search--it is the map of all the COBRA operative known locations. LOL.

I thought it gave the proper touch of "realism" to the JOE world.

Each of the three beds has a felt mattress shallowly stuffed with fiber fill, a felt pillow, also stuffed with fiberfill and a green felt blanket. The mattresses are glued onto a base I constructed of cardboard and covered with contact paper to match the floor.

Cora complained that there was no door, but I said that it was an underground barracks and they had to get into it with a rope ladder that was invisible. LOL.

Imagination. One must use it.

My sister in law Kari and my sister Kim preparing for the party. Kim had three cats made. I never did get a piece of any of them. I'll live, though. LOL.

My sister Joni, my Mom, my sister Kim, and my sister Tammy. Tammy was telling us some story but I don't remem ber what it was. I know it was funny and we all laughed.

Joni is mom to Matthew, Kaylee, and Erik.
