Rachael is the first to hang her coat on the new coat rack.

Nick admires (and perhaps ENVIES) the new coat rack.

Ryan's reward for putting up the coat rack is a Do-It-Yourself Lobotomy from Rachael.  It doesn't help to be lobotomized to teach...but it doesn't really hurt either....:LOL

This is my cat Komet.  She's a geriatric cat.  But she is still my baby.

She has the sweetest little paws.  Some of her little toe pads are pink, but others are gray.  Just like her nose--it's pink and gray.  Looks like she's got mud on her little nose.  But, that's just the way it is.

Here are the back toesies.  I just love to rub them with my fingers, but she is not a fan.  LOL.

I was working on my afghan this morning--but SOMEONE wouldn't leave the yarn alone.  Her idea of "helping" is chewing the yarn until it breaks.  So, I put it all away.  That's my leg in the foreground, with the beginning of my new afghan lying across it.  I bought that blue yarn on sale ages and ages ago.  It is such a beautiful color--very bright and cheerful.

Doesn't help but it doesn't hurt.

Now I wonder who is responsible for the Mel Gibson poster?

Your bedspread is so pretty. I love the rosebuds. You are so brave to have a white one. I had a white one. I have a black dog. Not a great combination. Not even with a sheet to protect it.

I've got tons of yarn in plastic storage containers left over from the yarn club I had at the middle school. When I left no one wanted to continue the club or take the yarn. So I took about half of it. Even so...I just bought a bunch of yarn on sale at JoAnns because I want to make a specific afghan and didn't have enough of any of the right colors. I like to do tunisian stitch and then cross stitch on top of that. I have some beautiful vintage patterns. When I retire I'm going to make every single one.

I'm going through my afghan books now, organizing them and putting them in a pendaflex file.

And I just labeled the backs of all of my watches with the size battery they take. And just bought batteries for them all and replaced them.

Tomorrow it's laundry and cooking. I'm going to try cooking for the week. Going to make the spinach quiche, a chicken pesto recipe from Family Circle, lentils and possibly even broccoli/barley soup. All of it freezes nicely. I also have bread and fixing for sandwiches.

I'd like to clean out the freezer and then go buy chickens at Costco and break them down. Make soup with parts, marinate and freeze for future use.

I love my dog's feet. He lets me kiss them. Okay, so I don't exactly kiss them. But I hold them in my hand and put my cheek against them. And I stroke them. I'm always telling him what a good dog he is. Because...he is.

I do love the new bedspread. It was an act of courage to buy it as Ms Komet seemed determined to barf on every inch of the last one, but lately, she has been a better girl. She leaps off the bed and barfs on the cream colored rug instead. Sigh.

I have a whole suitcase full of yarn--most of it is odds and ends left over from the afghan frenzy of a few years ago when I made afghans for each niece and nephew (and my grandma) for Christmas.

I need to do some sort of "patchwork" afghan to use up all the scraps.

I haven't crocheted in ages, so it has been fun to work on the new afghan. I like to have them around the house for a quick wrap when it is freezing cold.

I bought some fleece a couple years ago to make tied blankets for my nieces and nephews, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. So many projects....so little time.

I have not embroidered in eons either. Another thing I love to do. I need to retire just so I can enjoy all my hobbies!
