I forgot to mention that on the 14th, there were no parking places anywhere near the clinic door--except for one which required parallel parking.  I have feared and dreaded and avoided parallel parking all my life.  But my knees are too bad  to walk for three or four blocks, so I decided to try it.  Nothing ventured and all that crap.

Well, I parallel parkied like I'd been doing it all my life and twice on Sunday.   I was even the perfect distance from the curb.

Another talent discovered.  Wow.

You know what I think did the trick?  Driving those silly electric cart things at Walmart.  I think it improved my mental abilities to handle spacial elements while operating a vehicle.  And the learning transferred from the electric cart to my car.

At any rate, I am grateful.

Huzzah!

Excellent! You need to do it more often to keep your confidence up.

We parallel park a lot here on the west coast. I hate to brag but I not only parallel park on the right side (quite often this year as I'm parking on the street at this school) but I've had to do it on the left too, on one way streets downtown. I'm not so good at that. The worst is when I borrow my Dad's truck. It's too tall to fit in my garage so I have to parallel park it on my driveway. I had to do that for a month while my old car was being fixed from being "front ended". So I got good at it.

Now, imagine an real size car like those electric carts. Quiet. Lots of power. They're working on them now. Who knows. They might even be affordable before we die.
