Probably both Singers. Then have domed top cases with a handle on top?

If they aren't completely rusted down there they might be repaired.

Yes, it is different when it is her shit as opposed to your crap (and my stuff).

The next time she talks about your stuff, why don't you ask about her crap. Who is she saving the crib for? Caleb's kids? It's probably unsafe and doesn't meet current safety requirements. If the file cabinets work, can you use them? If not, why are they there taking up space? And the machines can fetch some money if they either work or can be repaired Especially if one of them is a Singer Sphinx, Egyptian or has a scroll or deco head plate. People will pay just for the parts. They are heavy as all get out but they were the first "portable" singers because they put a handle on the case. LOL. Sorta like those huge TVs that were "portable" because they had a hand hold on the top. That cathode ray tube analog TV is useless unless you hook it up to a cable box that will convert to digital. It's a huge paperweight. Not worth any money. In fact, you might have to PAY to discard it as toxic waste. Look out for one of those free discard for computer offers some of the stores have, then take it there, drop it off and drive quickly away before anyone can catch you.

Now, if they're in desk like cabinets that is a different story. You can do some research on them at www.ismacs.net and then google some price guides. Another really good group is the Yahoo vintage singer sewing machine group. I belong to them. They can help you identify and find estimates on the web. They don't do estimates but they can advise you where to go and even how to repair them if you're adventurous.

Well, if it's your stand then you should be able to store your stuff in it. Is your microwave going on top or your TV?
