They are in big wooden desk-like cabinets. One of the machines is ancient. Well, not ancient--but it is from the late 1950s. It doesn't work because she lent it to my sister who kept it in a damp, dirty old barn for about 8 years, never used it. Mom took it back, but it no longer works. I think it is "frozen" because of rust.
I don't know what is wrong with the other one, other than it doesn't work. It isn't a Singer...but I do not know what kind it is--I'd have to pull it up out of the cabinet to see, and there is a shit load of stuff on top of the cabinet.
The TV is an old Zenith that used to sit in the kitchen back on the farm. "It was such a wonderful TV." "It still works."
The crib was my grandmother's originally. My Aunt Darla slept in it as an infant back in the forties. "All my babies slept in this crib." It does not meet current safety standards--she offered it to my sister who does daycare and she turned it down for that reason. None of us hung outselves in the crib--but we certainly could have if we had been so inclined.
The microwave is on a shelf in the garage where, presumably, it will stay until hell freezes over...or a miracle happens and I can get another place of my own. I am sure I will never have another house...unless I win the lottery...but I believe an apartment would be just fine with me.
