The Clinic was going to okay my prescription for atenolol since I am out--and hold the rest until after I attend my medical appointments...but they fucked it up (or else the drug store did) and I got ALL of my prescriptions--three months supply of each, which means (theoretically) that I could put off going to the doctor for another three months. Woot.
But I will not.
I will bite the bullet and go.
Regardless of how much I hate doing it.
Sigh.
I'm at school now, and just about to dig into my big pile of crap that I want to accomplish today. I am not going home until I finish going through ALL of the 3-ring binders and organize them by subject.
I wanted to bring my laptop to school today, but I decided against it.
I want to use it to inventory EVERYTHING in my classroom--then organize the information (and the actual stuff) according to unit and class. Once the organizing is done, I can actually begin to work on some of the units.
I want my classroom DONE by the end of this week so I can get onto the real issues. I think I will begin with Senior Seminar, since it is the biggest pain in my ass. Then I will work on the new "Writing Skills" course. That will be my only "new" class of the new quarter. Children's Literature, I have taught several times--but I want to get several sets of five children's books so I can do reading circles with them. I also want to get a couple of classroom sets of books BASED on children's stories--but written for young adults, like Robin McKinley's "Deerskin." There is so much to do!
I want to get a bunch of my stuff onto powerpoint presentations. My new laptop gives me the ability to do that. That will also fortify me in my quest to get an LCD (LDC?) set up in my room. I NEED it--especially if I am going to require the senior sem kids to do power point presentations next year. :)
Doing several myself will help me to learn the information thoroughly and be comfortable with it so I can TEACH it.
And I also want to get a ton of organizing and purging of stuff done at home. That will be the bulk of NEXT week. Also, I cannot go home tonight until I have purchased FOOD. I have nothing to eat in my house. Arg.
Well, now I need to get to work. Lest I fritter the whole day away on the internet
