Last but not least--here is a close up of the little stool. It's a round trinket box. The bottom is covered with darker pink felt. The seat is a white fleece circle with a little puff of fiberfill underneath to make it more comfy for Barbie's tender backside.

The trim was on sale half price at Hobby Lobby. I love the way these look.

These are great, but for your book you need step by step pictures.

Pictures of the raw materials before anything is done.

Then several pictures of what they look like each step.

Then a picture of the finished object.

Then a picture of the object in the room.

Same with the room; raw box, wallpaper only, then with border, then with mop board, then with wall decorations. Last picture the finished room.

If you had a video camera I'd suggest making some videos and posting them on YouTube. A few teaser how-tos to advertise the book. My crochet group leader does this with some stitches when we're doing a crochet a long. Also one certain projects when she has a new book come out.

I usually do progress pictures when I make things--but that day, I had three little girls--oldest eleven and youngest nine. They all wanted to be involved in the actual "making" of the room, so I was busy threading needles and demonstrating how to sew or pin or glue without drowning an object in glue.

Cynthia's mom already proclaimed this the best room yet, and has requested that an identical one be made for Cynthia. LOL. NOTHING I make is ever exactly the same way the second time, but at least it will give me the opportunity to take process pictures.

Tonight, while I was watching a mini marathon of Criminal Minds, I made a strawberry cupcake and a slice of strawberry layer cake out of felt. Both turned out nice, but the cupcake was really darling.

Did not take pictures as I was just fooling around with some scraps.

I've been thinking of doing a "doll family" with Cynthia or Ellie or both. They can get their dad, mom, and kids dolls selected and we can build the family "home." That would make fun YouTube videos, especially if I took the girls with me shopping for the "wall art" in the scrapbooking aisle and for "upholstery fabric" in the fabric store.

To add an educational element to it (both girls are home schooled), I might make them each write about their doll families--each family member should have a full name, birthday, favorite color, favorite food, hobbies, etc. Then their rooms could include those preferences. I could have a doll book that is about building doll houses but also about helping young'uns learn to write.

A perfect marriage two of my favorite things--dolls and writing.
