In the back of the ginormous church, in the weeds, hidden from view for the most part is a limo.

Why does a church need a limo?

Didn't Jesus call his servants to lives of poverty?

Am I just being hyper critical?

Nice SUV too.

Is that the pastor's limo? I find it the height of hypocrisy when the pastor lives as a pharisee and the flock are all scraping by so they can increase their tithes.

That Pastor Joel Osteen with that megachurch in Arizona really burns my cookies. He and his wife took a vacation to Vale over Christmas and flew first class. Isn't Christmas supposed to be a pastor's busy time? No pastor would take a vacation at that time. And first class? Really? I know because wifey got thrown off the plane for slapping a flight attendant.

All pastors should drive cars that are ten years old and only get used ones, never new.

I guess I'm critical because I remember eating PB&J sandwiches when we had to cut back so that we could maintain out tithes and the pastor's wife would sit in the front row with her fox stole. Their kids were stuck-up cliquish brats too. I used to be in the junior choir. I'd come every rehearsal and show up to sing on Sunday, but half of the kids wouldn't bother to show up on Sunday morning. One rehearsal the pews were full so I brought a chair and when I set it down one of the pastor's clique brats sat in it with a smug look on her face, saying thank you. That left me no place to sit. So I stormed out. I stood at the curb waiting for my Mom to pick me up. Pastor's daughter came out to talk me into coming back. I told her point blank, *I'm* the one that shows up on Sunday morning but half of your brat friends never bother, they just take up space during rehearsal. I'm never coming back to sing with you and your friends ever again. I'd rather stay home. My Mother was surprised to see me waiting for her. I didn't say anything to her. But the choir director called her and told her I was invited to sing with the adult choir because I could read music, sing harmony and was just too advanced to stay with the kids. Yeah, he knew exactly what was going on. I put up with that shit all through junior high and high school and when I made honor ensemble I wasn't going to put up with that shit any more. That summer we did HMS Pinafore and I was cousin Hebe and the following we did The Mikado and I was Katisha. Then he left to go to a big Methodist church in the valley. I stayed for a bit but didn't like the new guy. I was in college by then so I sang with the Methodists for a while. When I graduated, I got a job directing at the local naval air station and had a choir of my own. After that it's hard to sing for someone else. I haven't sung in choirs since.

No, you're not being hypercritical. I'll assume they're not holding a prom in the church in the middle of the day. If that limo was for a baptism, confirmation or wedding it would be parked out front. If it was just a normal Sunday service, the only reason it's out back is to hide it. That screams pastor's hubris.

It was this afternoon at about 3:30 pm. Only two or three cars in the parking lot out front.

I am assuming it is "the church's" limo--meaning, it is the pastors.

There was NOTHING going on at the church that would require the presence of a limo--especially one parked out back like that--hidden from view.

What a little bitch that girl was. Too bad you didn't dump her out of the chair and smack her with it.

I'll bet the church owns the limo and the pastor has free use of it. As in for free. And since the church is tax exempt...

No. I took the higher rode. I don't think I could have made it any clearer the contempt I felt for them all. And when pastor's precious came back without me, I'm sure she lost a little face not being able to talk me into coming back. She probably lied a bit about the exchange too. Did I mention she and her friends were a little older than me? But that I was the best singer i the choir and without me they pretty much sucked. And I had my revenge since I never did go back. And when she saw me in the adult choir robes she said "What are you doing dressed like that" and I got to tell her that I was in the adult choir now. "Since when?" "Since Mr. Cooper called my Mom and invited me special."

Bitch. Her younger brother was a spoiled asshole too. But her older brother was nice. He was the first born, I guess that's why. He became a pastor too and a good one. He really did have a calling and a heart of gold. The rest of his siblings were just gold digging losers.
