The aprons

I finished the aprons last night.

I had to take mom back to the chiropractor in Owatonna today, so I dropped the aprons off at Kim's day care. The kids had to try them on immediately, so I was able to get a couple of pictures.

They turned out really cute.

C.J. is the boy in the "cook" apron, and Trinity is the girl in the "waitress" apron.

Trinity requested that I make some barbie doll stuff for the day care. LOL.

They decided to call their play restaurant the "Dino Diner."

Dino Diner is good. I'm sure they'll be creative with that one.

Any chance that kitchen stuff make it from the basement to Kim's daycare?

I'll be working on that one.

I'm thinking I need to be on the look out for some little iron on dinosaurs to put on the aprons--they can go on the top pocket for the cook apron and the waitress pocket on the skirt.

I have quite a bit of that red checked fabric left, so I'm going to hem a bunch of squares for napkins for the little darlings.

Check for dinosaur fabrics in the juvenile prints section of the fabric store. You probably wouldn't need more than a fat quarter. Use fusible web and cut out individual dinosaurs from the print and iron them on. You can either treat the edges with Fray Check or use a coordinating puffy paint to finish them off. If the kids are old enough, they could outline them in puffy paint themselves as a craft project.

I did this with fish once on T-shirts.

Great idea. I have some fusable web too.

I haven't worked with it before, but wanted to try it.
