They were no the street side of the park, so it just opens up a view of the sandbox, basketball court, and swing set and playground area. It greatly reduces the shade, which is a bummer.
I don't think there is enough space there to build anything. Years ago, when I was a child, there used to be a sort of miniature maze of shrubbery there. I suppose that too many youthful persons were using it as a make-out place, so that was ripped out years ago. There also used to be a small building that housed restrooms there, but repeated acts of vandalism caused that to be torn down. It was a shame as it had running water and was nice. Now they have a couple of those hideous and stinking blue chemical toilets. Yuck.
There were no powerlines along that side of the park, so that wasn't an issue. I suspect some sort of bug infestation. There's been a lot of that in this area.
