I had very little sleep last night.  Mom's water softener drained noisily from a little after midnight until well after 3 am.  Shortly after I moved in here, Mom's drain in the furnace room plugged up and that area flooded...not a by inches, mind you, but enough to wreck the carpet remnants she had in there and any paper items that were on the floor.  So, that water noise disturbed me.  It sounded like the water was gushing into the furnace room and flowing into the bathroom.  I got up and checked several times, but there was not a drop of water anywhere it wasn't supposed to be.  Yet, I couldn't fall asleep.

The last time I looked at the clock last night it was nearly 4:30 am.

I suppose I was awake around 9.  Mom had come into my room for some reason--I can't remember why.  We talked a little and I told her about the water noises.  I was seriously thinking about going back to sleep,  but I didn't.  I got up and got dressed, cleaned the litterboxes and gave the cats food.  I putzed with the Facebook Scrabble game for a while.  If they don't debug that damned thing, I won't be playing it much longer.  It freezes and is a massive pain in the ass.  I love playing Scrabble, but I've about had it with the Facebook version.

I've been reading Never Let Me Go, and, while I am enjoying it, it just isn't pulling me into obsessively reading it like some books have.

I went upstairs around noon and had some of my penne and dill salad and a tomato on toast.  Then Mom and I sat in the living room a while.  She was watching the judge shows, and I was reading my book.  She had told me that Lily and Jerry would be coming over and that Lily wanted me to give her another massage.  They also needed to get some family history information, and Mom has all kinds of stuff in her Family Tree books.

While Jerry read the questions and Mom and Lily answered, I gave Lily a massage for over an hour.  Her back and shoulders were so tense, and her arms where just full of knotted muscles.  She was in so much pain with it that even though I was very gentle, she was still yipping and yelping every time I hit an extra sore spot.  I could feel that it loosened up some, but not nearly as much as it should have.

When I was done, I could feel the effects on my own muscles all the way up to my elbows.  It wasn't pain--it was more like a buzzing/warm feeling...like all the muscles and tissues were activated and pulsing with energy.  I hope it was a healing flow from me to her.

After they left, Mom fell asleep watching her judge shows, and I read for quite a while.  Then, while Judge Judy was on, I was tired of reading and wanted to sew.  So, I came downstairs and worked on my little pirate outfit.  Mom came down after a while and played on the computer for a while.  She likes to play solitarie on there.

She left at about 5:15 to go to Lily's house as Marge, their Bible study leader, was coming to Lily's house to pray for her for healing and for her surgery next week to be successful.  Mom got back again at about 6:30 and we decided to order pizza for supper.  We got ground beef and black olive pizza with an order of garlic cheese bread.  That stuff is delicious.  Probably a heart attack in a box--but boy it tastes amazing.

We watched a couple of episodes of Criminal Minds and then Pawn Stars and American Restoration.  It's interesting to see how many different things people have accumulated in their lives.  I wish I had something valuable that I could get big bucks from.

I started the Christmas fabric pantsuit for Chryssie.  I think when I finish that, I may work on some clothing for the Ideal family.  They haven't had anything different to wear for ages.  Some of them--the mom, dad, and brother--have NEVER been out of the clothes they were wearing when I got them.  Tomorrow, they get stripped and scrubbed.  Then we'll see about giving them some garb and a tote  to hold them and their stuff.

That's about it.  A rather boring and unproductive day.

Today I felt odd.  This image came to my mind about myself leaving Triton as a caterpillar, then blossoming into a gorgeous butterfly at ROC--only to have my wings ripped off and my crippled body lying on the sidewalk, twitching and writhing, but still very much alive.  Just damaged beyond repair.

It would have been kinder if they had stomped on my body after taking my wings.

Alas.  Alas.

In other news, I see there is now a Dumbledore in the Tonner scale compatible with my Tonner dolls.  I WANT him.  And Professor McGonigal too.  And Harry and Ron and Hermoine too, of course.  Sigh.  That woud be several hundred dollars.  I doubt very much that I shall ever own any of them.  Sadness.

Stewie and I had a good long happy cuddle this morning.  Right in the midst of it, Mom called me and asked me to bring my dish pan to Lily and Jerry's house as they were freezing sweet corn and did not have a decent bowl for doing it.

I was dressed except for my shoes and bra (I don't wear them if I don't have to).  So I made myself a quick PBJ and took my pills then went over there.

Their cat Franklin has been terribly sick for a long time.  They actually took him to the vet to have him put down one day--but the vet, seeing how desperately they loved him, decided to try one last heroic measure and put a feeding tube in his neck.

I was afraid that he would look like death warmed over, but he looks great!  He seems to be recovering--he's been eating a little bit on his own, but they have to feed him every five hours and it takes an hour to feed him through the feeding tube.  I guess he is pretty cooperative about it.

He even managed to push the screen door open and have a little stroll outside.  LOL.

I got to give him a little kitty lovin' and he tolerated it pretty well.

Mom and Jerry were in the basement cutting the corn off the cobs.  Lily has been having a lot of trouble with her shoulders and neck.  Apparently the doctor told her she had "frozen shoulders" and has been giving her shots for them.  I suppose it is cortizone.  That's what they put in my knees.

They hurt her so bad that she was gasping and crying out every time they "grabbed" her.  I felt her arm and what it felt like to me was huge masses of knotted muscles.  I told her she should consider therapeutic massage as getting those knots rubbed out would help ease the pain considerably.

Then Mom told her how I was really good at massaging knots out and how I had helped her when her back was so bad.

So, I helped a little by putting the corn in the freezer containers, and when we were done with that, we went upstairs and I massaged her neck, back, shoulder and arm for probably about an hour.

I started really gentle and soft because I knew how much pain she was in...I felt the knots loosening almost right away except for one really nasty stubborn one that was just above her elbow.  By the end, I was able to go a lot deeper without hurting her excessively, and the knots were much reduced.

I told her she should take a nap after that as her muscles would be relaxed and she should be able to sleep...also, in sleep her muscles should relax even more.  She said she has been having a terrible time sleeping due to the pain.

While we were working on the corn, Jerry offered me a beverage--I said, "Nah, I have my water bottle."  Then he said, "Well, I was going to offer you a marguerita."

"Oh!"  I said, "Well, in that case..."  I was just joking, but he made a couple of margueritas, one for me and one for him.  I'm not generally a big fan of regular margueritas--I prefer the fresh fruit strawberry ones that are blended.  But this was pretty good.  It had just the right amount of "pucker power."

He said the secret to his success as a marguerita maker is an orange liquor that he can only get in Mexico.  They spend every winter in Texas, so they always go into Mexico too.  That's where I get my supply of REAL vanilla.  There is nothing to compare to good Mexican vanilla.

He gave me a book to read--he said everyone was telling him how good it was but he just couldn't get into it.  It's called Black Wind and it was written by F. Paul Wilson.  I have never heard of him before.  However, I started reading the book and got into it right away.

It is set during World War II and is about a young Japanese boy and a young white boy growing up together in California.  Both are picked on by a bully named Mick, and the Japanese boy seems to be a member of some strange secret society...but he knows very little of it himself.  However, his grandfather (or guardian--not sure what he is exactly) is training him in all the ways of the Japanese culture.

At about 6 pm, I retreated to my lair and worked on the mess from my desk.  I sorted a lot of paper stuff out--I have  recipes in a wire basket and a bunch of patterns in a blue Walmart bag.  Hopefully I can get those straightened out and put away properly tomorrow.

I folded my dark clothes and threw my whites into the dryer.  I scrubbed up my Mickey Mouse doll and my "My Friend Mikey" doll.  I did my best with Chatty Baby's hair, but it looks terrible.  I see cute little bonnets in her future.  Mikey's jeans were freshly washed and dried, so I put those on him.  His shirt and jacket are in the dryer now, I believe.  I looked on EBAY for some "My  Friend..." doll patterns, but didn't find anything much.

I put Chatty Baby in a newborn t-shirt I bought at Target some time ago--after Halloween.  It has a baby Frankenstein face on it and says "Little Monster."  It looks cute on her.

Mickey and Minnie are just standing around in their painted on underpants, poor things.  I need to  sew them some clothing.  I think I will make them both a pair of bib-overall shorts.  Just something so they don't have to stand around naked.

I'm hungry right now--no lunch and no supper.  When I got back from Lily and Jerry's house, Caleb was practically on my heels.  Mom made us all popcorn, and I guess that was supper.  I have some yogurt in the fridge down here, and I also have bread and peanut butter and raspberry jam.  I could have another PBJ sandwich...but I just don't feel like making the effort.

The next time I go to town, I will buy myself some granola bars or something that are easy to eat.

Right now, I wish I had some potato chips and sour cream with chives.  *drool*

Not much else is new.  Stewie is sleeping on my feet right now.  The girls are at the end of the bed snuggling with each other.  Once I fall asleep they will all be snuggling up tight to me.  LOL.  My babies.  I love  them soooo much.
