My current doll swap--the BBQ Summer Swap
May. 29th, 2008 09:25 amL eeAnn BBQ swap.
This has to be mailed out by May 30. All I have left to do is get a post card to include in the package.
Here are the pictures:
I made a little coat and a pair of scuffs to match.
Also there are 4 paper plates, four hot dogs, four ears of corn-on-the-cob, and for frosted donuts in dolly scale.
The paper plates were made through me copying a picture of a paper plate off an on-line paper supply place, enlarging it to the appropriate size, printing them off on the school's nice color copier, and then laminating them on both sides, and cutting them out.
Here is a close up of the food and the paper plate.
Next time I do it, I will make the kernals on the ear of corn smaller. Each of those kernals is individually made and placed, so it is rather a pain in the ass to make. The directions I found for making corn on the cob said to roll it on a screen, but I didn't think that looked very realistic at all. I am totally pleased with the hot dog and the bun. the mustard is a little thick, but I think it looks realistic.
The donut doesn't look too bad, but it stuck to the paper I baked it on, so now there is paper stuck to the bottoms. Grr.
Here is a closer look at the little jacket/cover-up I made. I think the fabric is sooo cute. I've made it reversible, and the inside is pink fabric that matches the darker pink on the watermelon. I intend to make one or more for my own dolls AND matching shorts sets.
The swap that I am doing requires two clothing items that are not pants, shirts, or dresses.
As I said, it's all done but for getting a postcard.
Then it is just a matter of mailing it.
