Happy New Year.
Jan. 1st, 2007 11:22 pmI didn't get as much done yesterday as I wanted to--my phone rang continuously all day long. I literally would hang up from one call, only to have the phone ring IMMEDIATELY after I put it on the receiver.
I worked hard today.
I did a ton of laundry--including stripping my bed and washing all my bedding. I wanted it to be fresh and sweet smelling for the new year. I bought the New Tide that is scented like lavendar and vanilla--and it smells pretty nice. Straight from the bottle, it is pretty overwhelming--I was worried. But now, my sheets smell good.
The cat puked all over the hallway, so I rescrubbed that.
I scrubbed the bathroom within an inch of its life. It gleams now--I'm going to try to maintain it. The only thing I didn't scrub was the sink--and I'm going to get that in the morning.
I swept and scrubbed the kitchen floor--the stupid cat had peed on it twice--right next to the piddle pad. I swear, I cannot take much more of this cleaning up after her. It is so discouraging to work so hard only to have the dang cat puke or pee all over it, ruining all my hard work.
I made a really good supper tonight. I made a rib eye steak with fresh mushrooms, a baked potato, baked squash, and skim milk for a beverage. While my supper was cooking, I made a tuna sandwich, raw veggies with dip, and an apple for lunch at school tomorrow. I laid out my clothes for school tomorrow too.
I washed up all my dishes and even scrubbed the lid of my kitchen garbage can because it was icky.
I am really determined to make 2007 the year I FINALLY got control of my life.
I have a bunch of goals for the year, but I am too tired to write them all down right now. Maybe tomorrow I can do it.
I am NOT looking forward to being back at school tomorrow. I need another week off--but I will be fine once I get there.
It is supposed to be in the forties temperature wise all week, so there isn't even a hope of a snow day. SOB.
Oh, well.
I have a lot of stuff to say about Christmas--and some pictures to share--but I have been too busy cleaning house to get it done. Perhaps I'll have some time with school starting to work on it. There is often down time during my classes when the kids are working and I'm just sitting there waiting for them to need help.

Date: 2007-01-03 06:52 am (UTC)The spot didn't come out of my red top and now I'm sure the dryer has set it in. I suppose I can play with it. After all it's already ruined, how much worse can it get? I heard if you spray it with WD40 and then treat for grease the stain might come out. I'm going to try that.
I unburied my diningroom table enough to change the tablerunner. And I cleared enough of the window area to put my Aunt Agnes' soup tureen there. (May Rejeanne reap the karmageddon she has sewn. I will wear a red dress and dance.)
I pruned all of the overgrown plants shading my dining room window. I put out a big can of recycling.
I vow to crush all of my cans and take the cans and bottles to the recycling center.
I finally got high speed internet at home. No choice, the county office of ed is discontinueing their dial-up. Too bad. You can't beat $40 a year. Now I'll have to pay $40 a month. :(
I got some stuff boxed and all of the boxes are sitting at the bottom of the attic steps, waiting for me to carry them up. Maybe I can get my nephews to help? Who am I kidding? They don't even help their own parents. I guess I can do a box or two per week without killing my back too much.
I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I know she is getting on in years and having problems. Is she in any pain? Maybe you should have a talk with the vet about her condition and quality of life. Maybe there is something that can be done so she doesn't puke and pee so much.
I finally got my clear LMT credential from the State of California. It only took them four months and two payments. Now I have to work on my National Board before my next masters class starts.
And I have jury duty Jan. 10.

Date: 2007-01-03 05:45 pm (UTC)The cat seems to be fine--other than her hair ball puking and her litter box issues. At least she only pees next to the litterbox on the tile. That's easy to clean up. The puking--it's not bad to clean up either if she pukes on the floor. When she pukes on the bed, it's a hideous ordeal, since EVERYTHING has to be washed.
You will love high-speed internet. Even if it is outrageously expensive. Some communities are giving everyone free high speed wireless internet. Mine, sadly, is not one of them.
Thank you, BTW, for the wonderful Christmas package. It was completely unexpected, and when I opened it up and saw what it was, I burst into tears. You shouldn't have spent that much on me--but I do LOVE it.
Thank you.
I will devote an entry to it soon--with pictures.
:)
