Tuesday

You know, I have absolutely no memories of Tuesday....except for the fact that I ate right and drank my 8 8oz servings of water.

So, *woot* for me.

Oh, wait--I do have more memories.  I had a school chef salad--and it made me so nauseated--I ended up puking my guts out right after the kids left.  I went down and told Susan and Tracy I was leaving early since I didn't feel well.

I stopped at McDonald's to get a hot tea in hopes that it would settle my stomach, which it sort of did.

I took pictures of the squeal marks my car had left on the road on Saturday when that bastard in the black pickup truck tried to kill me.

That is taken facing East, which was the direction I was traveling on Saturday--you can see how long the squeal mark was.

This one was taken facing West, which was the direction the bastard was coming from.

Wednesday

Well, Wednesday mostly sucked.

I got involved in some drama with some of my friends, and it basically exhausted me.  Try to help someone deal with their issues, and suddenly you are the rope in a tug-o-war between two sides.  Not cool.

The faculty meeting seemed to drag horribly.  I was so tired.  I thought I was going to fall asleep.

Then, even though I was absolutely exhausted, I had to go to Owatonna after school to see Lori Cole.  I don't know if it helped or not.  My lower back still feels a little tight.  Not as bad as it did, though.  I had the full treatment--electro-stim, acupuncture, and a good adjustment.

I forgot the noodles I was going to bring for lunch on Wednesday, so I stopped on the way through Byron and used my free meal card  to get a double quarter pounder with cheese value meal.

I ate it on the way to Lori's office.

I got right into the therapy room when I got there.  I fell asleep during the electro-stim treatment.  I was even dreaming.  I fell asleep again during the acupuncture--but it took a lot longer to fall asleep, so I didn't get to sleep as long.

After that, I went to Costa's and got some turtles for dessert at Jim and DeAnn's--Jim had invited me over since Jeannie was bringing chinese food over for supper.  It was good.

Jim was puppy sitting Jeannie's new puppy, "Spirit Princess," as she is only 10 weeks old, and Jeannie was nervous about leaving her alone all day long while she works.  Jim seemed to be enjoying the puppy's company, and she sure seems to like him.

I took pictures because, like all puppies--she is adorable.

Here she is eating the brush I was trying to brush her with.

Here she is hiding under Uncle Jim's chair.

She wanted to get up on the bench with me sooooo baaad!!!  But she was just a little too short and chubby to get the job done.

Here she is being a naughty puppy--eating her mommy's shoes.

And another naughty puppy picture.

And there is that absolutely adorable little fuzzy tummy.

After a eating and visiting and playing with the puppy a while, I went home--eager to see my new couch at last in my house.

It was there and it was the RIGHT couch!!

It actually looks prettier in person.

And there is a close up of the accent pillow.  "Paisley truffle" is the name of the fabric.  "Grid Spice" is the name of the main fabric.  You can't really tell very well by  the picture, but it has a sort of chenille like texture--it has a little fuzziness to it.

I love the way the colors go together.

I'd like to get the chair and ottoman--or the chair and enough fabric for an automan.

And that is about the extent of Wednesday.

I went to bed as soon as possible.

You should stay home. Too bad that driver couldn't be cited for just driving stupid.

What a cute puppy. Sorta makes you want a dog, doesn't it?

Nice couch. Looks very comfy and warm and soft. I so hope you can find a way to get that chair and ottoman you want.

Do you have hardwood floors under that carpet? The first thing I did when I got my old house was to pull up all of the carpets and throw them away. I was warned that the wood would be "cold" but I really haven't had that problem. Of course, I'm not in Minnesota either. But just the visual look of the warm wood is so much cosier than the awful, cold-looking carpet I had. If I absolutely had to have carpet, I think I would use area rugs, I love my wood so much. Are you just buying new furniture or planning a room make-over? Are you going to paint? Are you going to bring the carpet color in with pillows or an afghan? I happen to have a lot of colors of yarn (donated to our knitting club) that would match your carpet and couch. I'm busy buying vintage afghan pattern magazines from the 40's for possible use with the club. We mostly crochet but they haven't learned how to read the language yet so they just make big square things.

It does kinda make me want a dog.....

maybe once my cat is no longer with me....

but I want a dog with less hair to shed.

I am planning on pulling the carpet up. There is hardwood underneath, but I am not sure what its condition is...

I plan to buy an area rug for that room after I pull up the carpet. I'm going to "do over" the room to some extent. I want to paint--hopefully one of the colors that is in the accent pillow. There are a ton of them. And the chair I'm not sure about whether I should get it done in fabric to match the couch or the pillows. I love those pillows. Not sure if I'd like a whole piece of that stuff. It's called "Paisley truffle." How can you NOT love a name like that??

Basically, I'm working on making the house tolerable for me to live in--since only GOD knows if it will ever sell. *gusty sigh*

I'm through putting my life on hold, waiting. So, I've decided to move ahead with my LIFE and hope for the best.

If it sells, great. I'll have nice stuff to move to my new home. If it doesn't sell--well, at least I will have nice stuff to look at and use. I have to move very slowly since I haven't got a lot of extra cash to work with. I'm hoping to sell a bunch of stuff on Ebay this summer when I have time.

I don't have any forties afghan pattern books, but I have tons of doily books from all over the calendar. I do know how to read the language--but it's easier now with the pictograph patterns they have.

I want to learn to knit so I can make sweaters for these little fashion dolls. Those things (nicely done ones) sell like hot cakes on Ebay. I wish I knew how to make them, primarily for myself-but also for selling them to others. There are apparently a lot of doll collectors who have way more money than I do.

Lucky dogs.

Well, there are dogs that don't shed just like there are cats that don't shed. At least a dog tolerates and can even grow to love being brushed. Dogs worship you. But cats can be trained to go in a litter box. Dogs need to be let out. Yeah, I've heard of dogs going in a box but I don't put much store in it.

I hear what you're saying. There was a teacher at school that did her whole house in neutrals because that's what you do to resell. Only she was living there for years and years. What kind of life is that? When I redid my bathroom I could have done the entire thing in white tile. Instead I continued the green tile with black border that was around the sink. I'm not living my life in someone else's house. Let whoever gets it after me do what they want. I'm doing what *I* want now so I can enjoy living in it. The only white ceilings I have left are the kitchen, hallway and bathroom. Every room in the house has a colored ceiling. I have wallpaper boarders and faux paint techniques on the walls.

And I refinished my floors. It was cheaper than anything else and they came out beautifully. I highly recommend it. If your floors have never been refinished there should be no problem. Except you can't walk on them for a week. Me and the dogs stayed with my parents. Your floors might even be good enough to wait for the refinishing. Give them a good cleaning and buffing and you'll be surprised.

I've seen some awesome crochet patterns for Barbie. I think of you when I see them. You'd love to make Southern Belle Barbie or Victorian Barbie in crochet. If you ever get the itch to make an afghan let me know and I'll photocopy some of the vintage books. I *love* the tunisian crochet with cross stitch designs. I've been collecting those. Maybe someday I'll compile them all into my own book and add some of my own original designs. When I retire I'm going to make every afghan I love.

Coincedentally I've just listed a bunch of stuff on eBay today. I'll be listing more tomorrow. Time to clean out and make some $.
