I have to go to Amanda P's graduation today.  I have to call and find out the times on that.

Tammy and Burt are coming down to mom's today--and I feel like I should go there too.  Sigh.

They are seldom home, and I never get to see them.

My knee still hurts--though now the pain of my accidentally self-inflicted frostbite (with a really cold ice pack) hurts more than the other.

I think I need to go in for a couple more adjustments, but it is so much better.

Well, DeAnn just IMed and asked me if I wanted to ride along to Owatonna and have brunch at Perkins.

Of course I do!

Gotta go.

DeAnn gave me a little tub of aloe vera for my FREEZER BURN, which is what I am calling the massive red weal on my knee.  The red has already faded significantly, and the heat has all come out of it.  It is MAGIC, I say!  MAGIC!!

My cat is curled up against me in the most adorable posture, and my digital camera is RIGHT HERE--but apparently the flippin' battery is dead as it will not let me take her picture.  Sigh.

Breakfast at Perkins with DeAnn was great.  I had two poached eggs, a waffle, and a huge amount of meat stacked up on my plate.  I didn't realize it came with so much!  Thank goodness, DeAnn was willing to eat some of it.  I love the link sausages.  They are my favorite.  I don't really care much for the keilbasa sausage.  It tastes good but the greasiness of it doesn't agree.  There were two strips of bacon, a sausage patty, a keilbasa, and two links.  That's a lot of meat.

I think I was protein deficient, because after I ate the meat and eggs, I instantly felt much better.

DeAnn and I talked about many things--most specifically the ways in which we hold ourselves back (with or without our own conscious will) and ways in which we can correct that.

We are talking about going to a midnight movie on Wednesday night.  I have never done that.  I think it would be kind of fun.

We also talked about going to Winona for a couple of days--staying in a hotel room--and possibly going on the river.  I love water.

I'd love to go on a paddle boat--but I think they are mostly about gambling...and I am not a gambler.

It gives me no pleasure.

I suppose that it would be okay to sit on the deck and watch the scenery go by...I wish my little Dell laptop wasn't such a piece of shit.  It would be great to bring that one along when I am traveling.  It is a lot lighter than this monster--but not nearly as nice to use.

The key board is very small, and the screen is VERY small indeed.

Yet, it would be handy for taking along to record thoughts, insights and impressions.

Its battery doesn't work at all.

It doesn't matter how long you leave it plugged in.  It doesn't work.

I suppose I could try to get another battery, but who knows if THAT is really the problem.  And those batteries are not cheap.

sigh

I dozed in the car while DeAnn ran in for groceries.

In addition to being protein deficient, I am almost certainly sleep deprived.

We returned home on the Rice Lake Road.  Just past my sister's house we saw a box turtle in the road.  We went around it, and the pickup behind us went around it.  Then we felt bad about the turtle, thinking someone else might not be so kind.  So, DeAnn turned the vehicle around and we went back.

DeAnn put the turtle in the ditch, and we all went happily on our way.

The turtle below is NOT the turtle, but he looked similar.  He wasn't a huge turtle.  I'd say he was about the size of a salad bowl.  Not a little salad bowl or a really huge SERVING salad bowl, but the kind of salad bowl you'd get at a salad bar at a restaurant.

(*heh heh*)

I have been working on laundry and some sorting today.  And babying my poor knee.  (*oowwww*)

I really need to take a bath and pay some bills before I go to bed tonight.

Tomorrow I want to hit the house hard--but before I do anything else in the morning, I want to make an early morning run for groceries.

I have to stop eating fast food.  (A) it's expensive as hell.  (B) it doesn't taste that great after you've eaten it nearly every day for a month  (C)  it is not that good for anyone--and it is especially not good for me.

So, I want to do the world's lamest thing and plan out a menu, so everything is cut and dried.

Seriously, I need a nanny.  And maybe a knouter.

Probably I need the knouter more than the nanny.

Sigh.

Tomorrow I also want to drag that big umbrella plant outside and LEAVE it there for the summer.  Same with the snake plant which has now collapsed from thirst.  I have murdered many of my plants this winter.  Dehydrated to DEATH, poor bastards.

I think the Christmas cacti can still be saved.  The rest....most likely dooomed.

Well, DeAnn just called and is on her way home.

I am invited over to eat Chinese left overs.

But before I go anywhere, I have to have a bath.  I feel dirty and gross.

Before I go, I will also scoot down to the basement to throw the last load of laundry into the washer and get the whites out and up.

Laundry is a never ending pain in the fanny.

Well, gotta go.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

It was weird, but good.  In a strange weird way.

The premise is that these two people were in love and got into a fight, hurt each others' feelings, and decided to have their memory of the other person wiped away.  But while Joel, the main character, is having his memories wiped, he decides he doesn't WANT to have them taken away.  I am not sure what the moral or message of this movie is.  It could be "even the bad love is better than no love," or it could be "tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all," or it could be "if love is TRUE, nothing can destroy it."

Or it might be something else altogether.

My freezer burn is coming along nicely with the aloe vera.

Yay!  Magic vegetable juice!

I watched the movie at Jim and DeAnn's house.  We ate left overs.  Beef and broccoli--still yummy.  We had fresh strawberries for dessert.  Very sweet and succulent.

They had to go out to the farm and get a bat out of Jim's mom's house, so I went home and got ready for bed.

Now I'm ready to lie down and sleep.

I am weary.
