How Quickly Time Passes
Nov. 27th, 2005 12:54 pmI had trouble staying asleep last night. I finally sat up and messed around on the internet for about an hour and a half--then went back to sleep around 5 am. When I woke up again, I figured it was probably around 9 am--do to the quality of light. Imagine my shock and horror when I looked at the clock and it was nearly noon.
Sigh.
So I have approximately ten hours in which to accomplish all the stuff I wanted to accomplish in my house this long weekend--NONE of which has been done--mainly due to spending Thursday/Friday/Saturday with family.
Dammit.
I hate when this happens.
I did not go to the family hoopla on Saturday--but I did stay at my mom's later than I planned. I had planned to be out of there by 9 am. However, I went downstairs to pack up my stuff, and ended up watching two episodes of Clean House which I LOVE to watch. I think I love it because it shows me people who are in MUCH worse shape than I am regarding housework--and THEY come out with some pretty cool and tidy houses. Of course, they DO have experts helping them to sort and bullying them to pitch things they've had for years and years.
At any rate, it gives me HOPE that one day, my house will not be the pit of despair that it is at this time. And also, it gives me some interesting ideas on organizing things.
Anyhow, I ended up falling asleep during the last episode and not waking up until 12:15. Those recliners in my mom's basement are HEAVENLY. I love sitting in them. 9/10 times, I end up napping for HOURS.
My bed sucks so much and is so uncomfortable that I never sleep well. So, I am always suffering from sleep deprivation, I suspect. When I sit in one of those recliners--WHAM! I'm out.
Well, on the way home, I stopped for groceries at Walmart. The parking lot was absolutely PACKED and I was very unwilling to go into the mad house. But since I intended ONLY to go into the grocery part, I found a not too distant parking place and forced myself to do it. The grocery section was not too big of a madhouse. I bought over $80 worth of groceries. I'm sick of living on toast and pot pies.
When I got home, I unloaded my groceries and put them away. Then, I went up and tinkered around with some odds and ends upstairs, got on the computer, and ended up talking to GG, Peter (P not M), DeAnn, Hierachry, and ECM on IM. This lead to playing scrabble, and that kept up until after 11 pm.
Anyhow--I have LOTS to do today. And it always makes me feel better if I can make a list, so that is what I have signed on to do.
MY LIST FOR TODAY.
- Do laundry
- Put away clean laundry
- Make roast beef with potatoes, onions, and carrots.
- Bake chicken and rice casserole
- Make a big pot of chili.
- Bake seven layer bars
- Bake cookies
- Bake two squashes and freeze them
- Sweep and scrub kitchen
- Wrap and box up the 12 Days of Christmas exchange.
- Box up Piper and her stuff to send to Louisianna
- Complete two other swap items and get them packaged to send to swap partners.

- Take pictures of all this stuff before mailing it off.
- Finish packing up dolls for LoAnne.
- Pay bills (ARG)
- Pick up and put away crap which is all over the bed room. Again (Sigh)
Do I really believe I can get all this done today? No. But if I shoot for the moon, at least I should be among the stars.
Look for a progress report later.
Sigh.
I had hoped to see Yours Mine and Ours today--but that's definitely out after my monster sleep in.
