Today I did not go to school.  I stayed home.  There was a reason for this, and it was not my knee, which, though not healed, is much much better.

No--yesterday morning I woke up with my right eye ball swelled and bulging out of my eye socket.  It also looked like it was excreting gooey globules of yukky stuff.  The colored portion was sunk in the distended orb of my eyeball.  It looked like a naughty child had jammed his finger into a pallid round dinner roll.  I tried to find a picture of an eyeball that looked like mine.

I couldn't.  Google failed me.  However, I did find THIS picture which is rather terrifying in a sickly dark amusing way.

Apparently this is some poor bastard cat that some kind soul adopted from an animal shelter.  The people who adopted this cat are truly destined for heaven.  One can only imagine what kind of hell this cat went through to look like this.

Poor thing.

Anyhow--back to my story about my eye.

It was quite ugly--not as ugly as the time I had the allergic reaction to guinea pigs--but ugly enough.

I called my eye doctor's emergency number and left a message, then I got one of those little cool-bags and put it on my eye.  The swelling went down a little, but it felt icky and sore and dry and scratchy.

My eye doctor called me apologetically explaining that she had been at church then out to dinner.  She asked me what I had done so far, said I had done right, and told me to put some moisturizing eye drops in it.  She said to see her on Monday if it wasn't better.

I thought that maybe I should take a day off school and go have it looked at.  After all, I am diabetic.  I don't want to take chances with my eyesight.

So, I called Susan and asked if she knew if anyone else was going to be out from school on Monday--she told me I should stay home and go to the eye doctor--then told me I should call Jay and ask him.

I did and Jay, God bless his good heart, told me to stay home and get my eye looked at.  He said, "If you show up at school tomorrow, I will send you home."

So, I was absolved of guilt.

I slept in very late and then went to Owatonna where the eye doctor looked at my eye, said I was right to come in, put some kind of steroid drops in it and gave me a prescription for other non-steroid drops.  Then I went to see Lori--my chiropractor--who gave me acupuncture and electro-stim therapy and an adjustment.  My knee has been so much better since I started taking the drugs I begged my medical doctor for.

God bless HER good heart too.

It really started feeling better on Sunday.  I'm still limping, but not nearly as badly as I was.

Now, let me tell you about my Saturday.

I woke up and went to get the mail, since I have been expecting a couple of packages from my doll hobby.  I got one of them--some necklaces made for my Tonner dolls.

It was slippery--I almost fell on my arse on the sidewalk outside the post office.

Well, I decided I would drive to Rochester and get my hair cut and colored.  Just randomly decided it and went.

That took a couple of hours.  Then I went to Target to buy some Tylenol, which I am allowed to take the Naproxin my medical doctor gave me  Unlike aspirin or ibuprofin.  Of course, I had aspirin and ibuprofin galore in the house--but NO tylenol.  Sigh.

I bought some yogurt and stuff too.  My knee was really hurting when I was in Target, so I made it as quick a trip as I could.

I went through the drive through of Starbucks and got a hot chocolate.  I was really thirsty for it.

On the way home, Ingrid called me.  She wanted to go to a movie.  Well, I was hurting and didn't really want to, but I said I'd see how I felt in the afternoon.

Well, we ended up going to see 10,000 B.C. where this little kid who was sitting behind us suddenly began to puke.  He was sitting directly behind Ingrid.  At first I thought he was puking ON her...but no.

I don't know how such a small kid could puke out soooo much material.  If it hadn't been so gross, I would have checked to see if he barfed up his entrails and maybe even his skeleton.  It just went on and on.

Poor little bugger.

The movie was good--much better than I thought it would be.  I really went for the special effects--especially the mastodon hunt.  Cute Cave men.    :D  I have a thing for cavemen these days.

hee hee

After the movie, Ingrid and I went to Jenpachi--a Japanese steak house where they cook the food right at your table.  They have THE BEST fried rice I have ever eaten there.  Their lobster sauce may have something to do with that.

I had steak and scallops.  Delicious.

However, something in the soup or salad made me queasy.  I had to excuse myself to the bathroom on the pretext of blowing my nose.  Really, I got rid of it.  Then I was fine.  If I ever decided to be a bulemic, I would be good at it.  All I have to do is think about it and I do it.  Fortunately, I have no desires to head in that direction.

I am wondering if I was allergic to something in one of those items--that after touching it, I touched my eye, which resulted in the issues I had with it on Sunday.  Makes me wonder what might have occured if I didn't remove the crap from my system.

Sunday I didn't do much.  I watched two pay per view movies:  Awake and Sydney White.  Both were good.  I was surprised at how much I liked Sydney White.  Didn't realize it was a take-off on Snow White until I watched it.  My favorite part was when the "dorks" marched past the evil sorority chick saying, "Hi, ho."  LOL.

Gotta love that!

Well, that's it for me for now.  School tomorrow and need to sleep.

Good for you.

Good you took care of yourself. Bad circumstances. Hope the eye is alright. Don't mess with your eyes. I am surprised your doctor wouldn't see you until Monday given your symptoms.

I didn't know cats could get mange. Looks sorta like the cat equivalent of those Chinese Crested dogs that always win the ugliest dog contests.

Maybe its hair fell out due to stress?

Mine falls out when I am stressed. I'm lucky I escaped the evil Hell of Triton before I became bald as a cueball.

That is actually normal looking for a cat of its breed. Some cats are genetically hairless.

I am sorry you have been feeling bad lately.

Thank you. Yeah, I don't know about this cat. It looks like one of those scary dogs from "I Am Legend."

I feel sorry for the poor thing
