[Error: unknown template qotd]Farenheit 911 was pretty scary--especially the true parts of it.  eek.

Aren't they the cutest things ever?

Here we have Tyler, Noah, and Jullian.  Yes, I do have a couch in my class room.  Yes, people do sleep on it sometimes, and YES, I myself have slept on it once or twice--but never during the school day.  LOL.

There we have Robert, Nermin, and Missy working on their writing skills.

Someone on the other side of the room is giving Robert some crap.   lol.  Robert is like a crap magnet.

This is Emma--a very bright and imaginative girl.

Here we have Doug--Doug has collapsed, unable to handle the pressures of Writing Skills class.  however, Doug was able to play dungeons and dragons for 11 straight hours on the camp out trip.  LOL.  Doug---it rhymes with SLUG---do you think there is a special symbolic meaning in there somewhere?  LOL LOL LOL.  Just kidding--you know I love you, Doug.

This next batch is from the camping trip.

This was taken at supper.  I was watching over their backpack, since i was too crippled up with my knee pain to actually go anywhere and do anything fun.

Nermin, Robert, and Joey gave me their backpack to watch over.   One of them, "Only let the three of us into it.  Nobody else."

I said, "Is it the communal backpack?"

After I explained what communal meant, one of them said, "We are brothers--we share everything."

"Like the three musketeers?" I asked.

"More like the three stooges," said Joey.

I think that was the verbal highlight of the camping trip for me.  LOL.

Behind the three "stooges" is Jacy.  yes.  Her mouth always is open.  Sometimes even wider than that.

One of the girls was wrapped up in a blanket.  Suddenly she realized she was not alone in her blanket.  this fellow was wrapped up in there with her.  I've never seen such a colorful spider before.  No idea what kind it is.

There is a closer view of this fine fat fellow.

Love his legs.  see how hairy they are?

Shane is like an energizer bunny.  But when he collapses, he collapses.  This is the result of acting like a brute for five hours, tormenting Ryan (another instructor) and everyone else, and a 20 ounce ROCK  Star Energy drink.  I have shown Shane this entry, and he has approved this message.

Shane has asked me to add to this that he does NOT approve of John McCain.

Neither do i, actually.  LOL...

These are all going to Anne from the Marley doll collectors yahoo group.  It is very late, but I think she will love. the variety.

In this swap, she sent the fabric and trims, and I was to make something for her out of them.  Well, i got a little carried away and added some of my own stuff.

The "onesie" (body suit) and socks are made from what appears to be fabric from a little girl's t-shirt.  It's got little butterflies all over it in green, blue, purple, and a lighter shade of purple.  I loved it and was hoping that there'd be enough left of it to make one for my own dolls.  I don't think there is enough left--sad to say.  The little girl's t-shirt was for a very little girl.  the jumper over the body suit was also from the fabric Anne sent me.  I added the buttons down the front from my private stock of stuff, but the lace trim at the bottom was from her.  Green and purple are not usually a color combination i groove to, but with the body suit, it seems to tie together pretty well.

I had some purple felt that melded nicely with the color scheme Anne had sent. she sent the butterfly 'buttons' which i put on the front and the 'dragonfly' buttons I sewed onto the back.  i htink the jacket turned out just darling, and I am definitely going to make some of these for my own Marley and LeeAnn dolls.  I think i will make them just a little longer, however, with just a little shorter sleeves.

The purple flowered fabric for these bib overalls is mine.  Anne sent the adorable pink flowers.  I loved those.  Next time i go to JoAnn fabrics, i am going to look for some for myself.  I wish i had made the bib just a little higher.

These capri pants are cute--I haven't made a shirt to match them yet.

I made a pair of long pants out of the same fabric.  They look pretty good with the little jacket.

Here's the back of the jacket with the dragon flies.

I love to sew for these dollies.

I stayed home from school yesterday (wednesday) to rest my knees.  they ached.  I wanted to keep them up so i could be okay for  the rest of the week.

My back and hip were hurting from favoring my knees for weeks.  I figured as long as I was home, I might as well see if I could get in to see Lori Cole, my chiropractor.  I was able to get a 2:30 appointment, so I went in and had acupuncture, electro stim treatments, and an adjustment.  My back is much better.  I slept sooooooo good last night.  I was so sound asleep I didn't even wake up when Michael tried to call me this morning.  i wouldn't have known he had called at all, except that I woke up to pee and my phone was making its little burbling noises to tell me i had missed a call.

I called him back, to tell him i was sorry i'd missed his call, and he was still sitting in his truck outside the shop.  Big goof.  i think he was sleeping.

anyhow--while I was in Owatonna, it was such a cold, gloomy fall day that I had to take some pictures of it.  it was reminding me of hte month of November.

The sky looked sooo gloomy.  It was dark and cold, and the wind was blowing.

I tried to zero in on that low hanging sky with my telephoto option.

I decided  to drive out to Mineral Springs Park to see what the leaves look like on this cold and blustery October day.

Even on a day without much sunlight, that tree has a blaze of beauty about it.

if I were not so old and fat and crippled up, i'd love to climb up that stairway.   When I was a kid i used to play up there--pretending that I was one of Robin Hood's merry band.

Princess Owatonna looks like she is wrapping her blanket around her now because she's freezing her patootie off.

it looks lighter in this picture than it actually was.  i wanted to get out of my car and roll in those leaves and smell their pungent fall odor.   The thought of hundreds of piles of dog crap and the possibility of broken bottles and stuff under them prevented me from impulsively acting on it.

i don't know who these kids are or what they were doing, but they looked like they were having fun.  the one in the front was poking a big stick into the water--something i would probably be doing if i were young and spry again.  The river is horridly low.

When I was young you could drive your car further into the park than you can now.  right around where those kids are, there was a place that you could drive your car across through the river.  I recall it was all slimey with algae.  I used to try to walk across the slab, and nine times out of ten, I slipped and fell down and got an algae green buttocks.  Yuck.

As i drove past this, i just visualized robin and his merry men in their lincoln green liveries darting between the trees, ready to fall upon one of the sheriff's illicit convoys ferrying out the wrongly seized property of the peasant class.

Just a nice view of the river under the bridge.  There might be a troll under there.  i haven't seen any evidence of one-but there MIGHT be one....

That's the river on the side of the road.  i liked the way all the trees bowed over the river like they were trying to see their refection in the water.  The water is pretty murky and sluggish--and, once again, quite low.

There was a beautiful sunrise today, but i was in a hurry and didn't have time to stop and snap some pictures of that.
