"The next time you have green onions, don't throw away the white ends. Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window. Your onions will begin to grow almost immediately and can be harvested almost indefinitely. We just use kitchen scissors to cut what we need for meals and periodically empty out the water, rinse the roots off and give them fresh water."

This is one of my LeeAnn Dolls. She's holding a small-scale piece of felt watermelon I made. I embroidered seeds on the two outside layers of felt. I glued three half circles of red felt together for the body of the watermelon, then added a strip of white for the inner rind and a strip of green for the outer rind.

It is a little small for the LeeAnn doll size, but it works. If I make more, I will made the slices larger.

The embroidered seeds look quite realistic.

Same doll (She's about 11 inches tall) holding a small-scale hot dog in a bun.

The hot dog is made of rolled up fleece which is a great shade of orange for a hot dog. I stitched up the long side of the hot dog and gathered and stitched shut the ends. I glued the seam side down to the bun and pinched it together so it took the proper shape when it dried.

a small strip of yellow or red yarn could be draped over the hot dog and glued down as catsup or mustard. I didn't look for any yarn, though. Maybe another day.

The cinnamon roll is super easy to make. I cut a strip of the light brown felt, fold it in half the long way, and "stuff" it very lightly with some stretched out fiber fill.

Then I take a single layer strip of the dark brown and lay it on the folded "stuffed" light brown felt and roll it up.

I stitch the end of the roll and then use the eraser end of a pencil or my pinky finger to push up the middle from the bottom just a little bit.

I think that makes it look more realistic.

I love the cinnamon rolls the most of all the things I make. They look the most real--I'm very tempted to EAT them. LOL.

These are the larger scale strawberries I made for my sister Kim's day care kids. I embroidered seeds on the outsides of the berries then stitched them up the sides and stuffed them with fiber fill.

I stitched the tops closed then stitched on the green stem caps. They didn't look nearly as cute until I put the stem caps on them.

Here is the larger scale hot dog for the day care. I did not glue the hot dog to the bun in these, since they want to play restaurant.

The "cook" can put the weinie in the bun before they serve it.

Here's the back view.

I have a darker brown felt for the outside of the bun and a lighter brown felt for the inside.

Both top and bottom of the bun is stuffed lightly with fiberfill to give it some body.
