Friday, December 3

When I woke up this morning, my foot was completely back to normal—no pain at all.  So that is a good thing.  I celebrated my recovery by cleaning the cat litter boxes in the breezeway.  There was a large dried up puddle of cat puke and three small dried up puddles.  I scrubbed them up with Clorox clean-up spray and paper towels.  I had to let the big puddle soak for a while before it was loosened up enough to deal with.  I had a light bag of garbage from the bedroom, bathroom, and living room and a gawdawful heavy bag of garbage from the kitchen.  I took them outside to the garbage bin.

I microwaved my left over KFC chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy along with the left over dressing from Thanksgiving that Mom gave me for my lunch.  While it was in there, I worked on my dishes.  I didn’t have too many dirty dishes, so it didn’t take long.

Later in the day, I worked on the big mess that accumulates by my recliner.  I had a bag of mail that I went through and recycled a good share of it.  I get so many catalogs and so much junk mail.  I put some of the craft stuff in the laundry room and opened the FedEx box that my prescriptions were in and moved them into the bedroom.

I used my electric broom to clean the floor on the south end of the living room.  There were a lot of crumbs and scraps of paper and stuff on the floor.  A fat, fuzzy little squirrel was up on the deck, looking forlorn as there were no peanuts out there for him, so I took the bag out and left a lot of peanuts on the rail for him.  Peaches loves to glare at him as he collects his peanuts.

Saturday, December 4

Today, I sorted and washed my laundry.  After that, I used the electric sweeper to do the rest of the living room, the kitchen, and the breezeway and scrubbed the kitchen and breezeway.  I had KFC leftovers again for lunch and just ate a pint of Schwan’s Midnight Cherry Fudge ice cream for supper.

The Schwan’s man came today.  I had ordered 8 single serve meals so that I eat something reasonably decent and quick to make.  I have a good stash of frozen meals, vegetables, and meats in the freezer again.  Not nearly as much as I had before, but it is all fresh.  I plan to use it up better this time around.

The sky was gray and gloomy all day.  Strangely, that seemed to motivate me to keep working.  Usually a day like today makes me feel like baking, but I just seem to have lost the drive to bake.  I have a bunch of withered apples that need to be used in something—apple dumpling or apple crisp or even raw apple cake.  I have good recipes for all of those things, but just no ambition to do it.

The squirrel came and investigated the deck, making sure he didn’t miss any peanuts yesterday.  LOL.

I ended up being up till 2 am.  I watched The Mummy, then The Mummy Returns (both with Brendan Fraser), and finally The Scorpion King (with the Rock).

Sunday, December 5

My alarm was set for 8:30, but I was wide awake at 8:00.  There was no point to going back to sleep for half an hour, so I got up.  I brushed my teeth, tested my blood, and filled my pill caddy.  Both of the cat’s water bowls were low, so I filled them up.   Then I made a couple of toaster waffles for breakfast and fired up the laptop.

I noticed that my garbage and recycling bins had been taken to the curb, so Jack must have been here last night or early this morning.  Both of them were full, so I was very thankful that he’d put them out for me.

DeAnn and I had our zoom meeting from 10:00 am till after 3:00 pm.  It was a very good meeting.  Our meetings are always motivational.  I always feel like so inspired to get stuff down after we meet.  Sadly, the feeling passes quickly.  Ha.

I had more leftover chicken and dressing for a late lunch.  Then I bagged up more recycling.

It was another very gloomy day.  It seemed to get dark really early.

I watched a few episodes of Yellowstone and then went to bed.  I was

 pretty tired.

Monday, December 6

I slept in later than usual today.  I was really tired.

There is some sort of weather coming—probably snow or cold.  My knees are aching pretty bad.  I ate the last of the leftover KFC for lunch with a lettuce salad.

The only thing I really accomplished today was to wipe down two 6-packs of Diet Coke and restock my little fridge.  I watched the Weather Channel for a couple hours.  The poor devils in Louisianna and Mississippi are having tornadoes today.  Up in northern Minnesota where Tammy and Bert have their cabin, it snowed about 16” today.  I’m glad we didn’t get a single flake.  It was really cold today though.

I was hoping Lily’s final two Christmas gifts for her great-grandchildren would come today, but they didn’t.  Tomorrow she goes up to the Cities to visit Hailey and her little girl.  On her way home, she will stop at Walmart and pick up my test strips and lancets for my blood sugar monitor.  They won’t send the test strips in the mail as they are temperature sensitive.

I learned today that Bob Dole died yesterday at age 98.  It’s sad.  He was one of the old generation of Republicans—back when they were still sane and had at least a vestige of a moral compass, not the crazed lunatics that have control of the party now.

I saw video of those loonies in Dallas carrying huge cut outs of John F. Kennedy’s head with a red MAGA hat on and chanting that he was coming back and screaming the numbers “176” and “169” which, they claim, is a code by which JFK communicates with tRUMP.  They are all fucking crazy.

I wish someone would put a bullet in tRUMP’s head.  One of those kind that goes in small but will blast the back of his head right off.  The man is a menace.  They were also squealing  that tRUMP would be the president of the whole world.  How can they buy into this lunacy?
