Wednesday, January 11

I had a “productivity partner” zoom with DeAnn today.  I was not terribly productive.  The only thing I really accomplished was to place an order on Chewy.com and to fix my auto ship orders so the cat litter comes every six weeks and the other stuff comes every five weeks.  This is because the cat litter is so heavy that it crushes the Sheba pod boxes and pops the pods open.  It also shatters the plastic boxes the Temptations treats come in, making the treats stale and nasty.  Then I spent several minutes—probably half an hour or more—looking for a cat carrier with wheels that both Sawyer and William can fit in together.  They are both big, heavy cats, so I wanted one that would work for at least 35 lbs worth of cat.  There was only one that could hold 33 lbs of cat, but it didn’t look big enough for them to be in it comfortably.  Also, it was $170 and was more like a stroller than a cat carrier.  I don’t know if the cats can ride in the car inside of it.  And I cannot have them climbing all over the inside of the car while I am driving.

I just had no motivation to do anything today.  I didn’t call the vet about Sawyer’s ears or my insurance agent about why my car insurance is twice as high as anyone else’s that I know or my  mother or Lily.  All of which I planned to do.  I also did not write out checks for my bills, though I did check my checking account balance so I knew how much money I have available and can figure out how much I may have to borrow so I can survive the month of January.

I also made a very small grocery list after looking at the Lerberg’s ad.  I did not call it in, however.  I am having an internal debate over whether I can get through this coming week without buying any groceries at all.  Right now, I am thinking I should not buy anything for the rest of the month.

The only thing is that I am really craving quiche.  And I have no cheese.  And I hate to make an order for JUST cheese.  Perhaps I can get Lily to pick me up a block of cheddar cheese if she is going to get groceries any time soon.

I didn’t do much else of note today.

I should have cleaned the litter boxes in the breezeway, but I didn’t.  I will do them tomorrow.  I also want to check out what I have in the freezer to see what I can eat for the next few days.  I am pretty sure I have a bag of General Tso’s chicken that I can make.  That’s good for at least 4-6  meals with vegetable fried rice.  And I know I have a box of jumbo breaded shrimp from Schwan’s as well.  That’s good for 2-3 meals.  And I have a lot of frozen and canned vegetables.  And I have a few potatoes that can be peeled and fried or boiled.

It's barely past 9 pm, and I am tired and ready for bed.  Tomorrow I need to call my brother and see if he will come over and move my garbage bins to where they belong.  If he will do that, I think I can get my garbage and recycling out to them myself.  I don’t have any terribly heavy garbage this week.

Not much else is worth talking about.  I made a bowl of Cream of Wheat for breakfast, and I had a schwan’s thai noodle bowl for supper.  I won’t be buying that again.  It wasn’t disgusting, but it certainly wasn’t worth whatever I paid for it either.  Not much flavor.  The Cream of Wheat, however, was delicious.  I added cinnamon and a bit of butter and sugar to it.  And I thinned it with a little half-n-half.  It was as tasty as a bowl of pudding.
