So I had a very busy and productive day today.
I got up early this morning after a really intense night’s sleep. I was so deeply asleep that when I woke up to pee in the middle of the night, I felt like I was made of lead. I could hardly move my arms, I was so deeply asleep. As soon as I was back in bed, I was out again. I didn’t think I had worked that hard yesterday, but apparently I was worn out.
I know I woke up in the night crying once over little Zoe. I was sure she would be dead when I woke up this morning, but she survived the night. It sounds like she may have a concussion or maybe brain damage as she is not really “with it,” but at least she is alive.
The first thing I did this morning after getting dressed and doing my morning stuff was to record my last two interesting dreams in my dream journal. It has been a few days, so most of the details have been lost. I was really only able to salvage a couple of the more powerful images/scenes. The major plot was gone.
My dreams are always so detailed and full of interesting imagery. I’ve been writing them down for a few years now.
Since my subconscious spews them up, I figure I should at least pay attention to them.
When I finished that, I unpacked the three heavy boxes from Chewy.com, broke down the shipping boxes and took them to the breezeway, and put the three big boxes of cat litter in the breezeway and stacked the three smaller boxes next to the front door. I cleaned the laundry room litterbox and put the scoopings in the living room garbage then dragged it into the breezeway and cleaned those three litterboxes and added those scoopings to the living room garbage as well. Now that garbage can is very heavy. I tied it off and left it in the breezeway.
I finally attacked the clutter in the office, picked up all the stuff that the cats had scattered all over the floor. The area rug was so covered in cat hair that it was insane. All three of them are shedding like crazy. In the end I dumped a wad of cat hair into the garbage big enough to make at least two more cats. The fabric desk chair was so coated in cat hair that it took me about half an hour to clean it off. And even then, I could have probably got more hair out of it. It was unbelievable. I wiped a bunch of cat hair off the leather office chair with a bleach wipe. It hadn’t woven itself into the chair the way it had on the fabric chair, but it was full of static electricity and kept clinging to the leather.
I must have gone over the rug four or five times to get the bulk of the cat hair off.
Once that was done, I sorted out the documents I needed to file, put them in page protectors, and filed them in the three-ring binder where I keep all my medical bills and records. I changed my three MiniKane dolls out of their sweat suits and put them in cute little dresses. I took pictures of them individually and as a group in their new dresses. They look darling. I straightened out their tote of clothing so it’s all neat again. They don’t have a lot of clothes yet as I do not own many patterns for them. On Etsy recently, I bought three knitted dresses (same pattern, different colors) and three little sweaters (again, same pattern, different colors), but the dresses are pretty short and I haven’t gotten around to making them any underwear yet.
Tonight I looked on Etsy to see if I could find tights to fit them. I didn’t find any. They don’t have any shoes either. These are “baby” dolls, so I figured white knitted booties would work for almost everything. I didn’t find any of those in their size either. I might be able to crochet some for them, if I can find a pattern. I am working on building wardrobes appropriate for all my dolls. There was the most adorable little Easter dress with fuzzy chicks for sale, but there was only one. I am still very tempted to buy it—it was less than $15, but I didn’t see any other Easter frocks that I liked in their particular size. Also, Easter is this weekend, so it’s kind of pointless to buy Easter dresses now. Independence Day will be the next big holiday.
My poor Chatty Cathy collection is still wearing their Christmas outfits and their satin Santa hats. Perhaps tomorrow I will put them into something floral and springy. They need shoes and tights and socks too. Underpants as well. My poor dollies. They all need stuff. LOL.
For lunch, I made open face chicken salad sandwiches with the chicken salad spread I made yesterday.
I talked to my brother for quite a while. I asked him if he could come and take all this broken down cardboard that I have stacked up in the breezeway to the recycling center down by the railroad tracks and drag my garbage and recycling bins to the curb. I am hoping he will be willing to take the heavy garbage out for me. I can do it, but it is so heavy, and my shoulders are so sore today. I have two bags of recycling that need to go out to that bin as well, but they are very light. I should be able to get those out without any trouble at all.
I had hoped to clean out the fridge today, but I was worn out after all the other stuff I was doing. Tomorrow I have to make the pasta salad for my Easter contribution to the family feast. I also need to clean out the fridge, wash another huge sink full of dishes, and put away the clean dishes that are in the dish drainer.
Ross delivered my groceries, and I got all of them put away. He had chicken thighs on sale again, so I will roast them tomorrow. I have a cantaloupe and some strawberries that need to be cleaned and prepped for easy eating. I’m not sure what I will make out of the chicken once it is roasted. Maybe chicken noodle soup or chicken salad for sandwiches. Maybe smaller portions of both.
I bought a package of beef Ball Park Franks and a package of hot dog buns. I had two of them for supper with catsup and pickle relish. I haven’t had a hot dog in forever, and they were so good! I may have hot dogs again for lunch tomorrow. I also had two big pieces of celery stuffed with cream cheese. That also tasted especially good. Perhaps I was just extremely hungry.
I did a lot of random tidying up throughout the day. The office looks really nice. Tomorrow I have to work on food prep and cleaning the kitchen. I hope Jack will come to deal with the cardboard tomorrow so I can get it out of my house. I am so tired of all of that cardboard everywhere.
There isn’t much else to say today. I watched several episodes of Law and Order Special Victims. There was some kind of marathon. I wasn’t paying too close of attention to it as I was doing other things at the same time.
I am not real excited about going to my mother’s for Easter on Sunday. It should be okay. I am not anticipating any major drama. I’m just not feeling any real urge to be sociable. At least I have a quiet day to look forward to tomorrow. Perhaps I will try to stir up a rousing game of Pictionary with my siblings. We used to play games all the time. Now we never do.
