This actually kills two birds with one stone--it shows me with my ticket (picture taken by my colleague Laurie right before I sent off the $131 fine, and it also fulfills the little thing sweeping livejournal where we are all supposed to take a picture of ourselves just as we are.  Well, that's me right after school on Friday afternoon.

And there is the ticket itself.  As you can see, I have a steadier hand than Laurie.  LOL.

Ouch

Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark - - in your wallet. The last speeding I got was in the 1970's when I owned a Lotus Europa. Shameful! In a Buick? - - what's the point of that?

Oh, the humanity!!

Poor naughtly girl . . . now go to your room! No TV tonight!

Love ya,
Pappy

You have to get rid of the green Buick. Obviously it is way to easy a target. It attracts the attention of Law Enforcement as an obvious speed demon and whoever is driving it is a flagrant law-breaker.

I got one speeding ticket. Unjust. We have a main drag in which the speed limit is 40. But there is a blinking light to tell you that when children are present it is 25. Well, I know both schools on that street. The Middle School doesn't start until 7:30 and students are not allowed on campus until 7 am; the gates are locked. The other is an elementary with an even later start and students aren't allowed on campus until about 20 min. before school starts. So at 6:30 in the morning....no children should be present. You can't actually SEE any children because there are always cars parked up and down the street, as it's also residential with some businesses. The light is supposed to blink telling you when children are present.

It was 6:30 in the morning and the light was not blinking.

I was going 42 mph. Fine for the posted speed limit. But there was a cop waiting down by the last light with a radar gun. And there were TWO High School kids on the opposite side of the street standing back from the curb waiting for a bus or something.

I suppose I could have fought it because the warning light was NOT blinking. But if I lost I'd pay the entire amount plus have it on my driving record. I opted to go to traffic school (run by a Republican asshole Highway Patrol officer who loved having a captive audience to lecture for 6 hours.) so my driving record would be clean.

I still consider it an unfair ticket.

And he and your guy obviously needed to make their quota for the month. Don't let anyone tell you they don't have a quota of tickets to write. They all do.

Kinda an irony a Prius getting a speeding ticket. We're supposed to be pokey, below the speed limit drivers.

Except for Steve Woszniak and Al Gore Jr.

At least I don't have to drive that route every morning that early anymore. Two new schools and neither in that direction.
