I got up early and had a nice long soak in a hot bathtub.

It was too early to go to the clinic for my blood tests, so I puttered around the house a bit.  I ended up losing track of time and got to my appointment ten minutes late.  It didn't matter, though.  The waiting room only had three other people in it the whole time I was there.

I only had to wait about fifteen minutes.  For the first time, I didn't bring anything in with me--no book, no sewing, not a thing. I just sat in  the chair and stared at the floor.  I don't think I even had any thoughts flitting through my head.  LOL.

After my blood was sucked, I went to Daniels, the local restaurant in Kasson.  I had my usual there, the "Rancher's Breakfast."  It consists of two eggs (I get mine over easy), 3 slices of bacon, two pieces of toast (I always get rye), and hash browns.  I am not a real fan of hash browns unless they are really really crisp.  These were not.

While I waited for my food, I sorted through my mail and paid most of my bills.  It wasn't nearly as bad as I feared it would be.  It turns out that I over paid my Target bill and have a $70+ credit.  Woot.  Now if I can just get Capitol One paid off and out of my life.  I only owe them a little over $1,000.  I sent  them $150, which is much more than my minimal payment.  With my next check, I hope to pay even more.

Kasson has a drive through mail box, so I dumped my bills in there.  I had just enough stamps to mail them all.  I even stopped at city hall in West Concord and paid my way past due water bill.  That should keep them happy for a while.

Oh, in Kasson, I got some raspberry Bavarian cream pie to take home with me.  I had a couple of bites when I got home, then went upstairs to pee and mess with my computer.  My cats needed cuddling, so I snuggled with them for a while--then we all fell asleep.  When I woke up and disentangled myself from the pile of cats, I sort of wandered aimlessly around the upstairs, unsure of what I should do.

I went downstairs and watched a show on the history channel that was about ancient explorers and navigators.  It was quite fascinating.  Peaches decided to snuggle into the curve between my hip and my waist.  And she stayed for a very long time, purring her little heart out.

At about 5, I made myself a couple of hotdogs.  I had purchased some pickle relish just to have with the hotdogs.  It was good.  I get a craving for pickle relish with hotdogs once in a blue moon.  Then I had a few more bites of the pie.  It was so good!  It's too good to eat it all in one sitting.  So I have enough left for a treat tomorrow too.

The wind blew like crazy all day--and while I was sitting in the bathroom watching the grapevine that has overdrapped my house whipping around, the wind just stopped.  It was weird.  After a few minutes it started up again and now it is very dreary looking and it's raining.  There was a little bit of rumbling thunder, but it sounded distant and not very ominous.

Ooo. Another post.

You know, you inspired me.

I never used to keep a journal. I tried a diary in high school but couldn't think of anything worthwhile to write about. Tried again after college but could never remember to write in it.

When I had to join Livejournal in order to read and reply to your blogs, I finally (after about a year) decided to try writing. Nothing special. Just every day stuff like you do. Then, a year or two ago I made an informal New Year's Eve resolution to try to write something, anything every single day. If it was just those stupid Writer's Block things.

The quantity may have increased and stabilized but the quality still sucks. It's my favorite place to rant about life. I have nothing inspiring or deep to communicate. They'll never make a TV show out of my blog. Most of it is private anyway. And my identity as well as those I rant about is kept secret, mostly to protect me from any lawsuits as a result of hacking.

But I wanted to let you know that you are responsible for me writing almost every day. Even if it does suck.

Maybe you can work on my quality in the future.

Your writing doesn't suck. I find your entries interesting. I especially love to hear about the doggie's life. He sounds like such a sweet guy.

I am humbled that you feel I inspired you. I'm glad you're writing--I have always found it to be the world's cheapest therapy. LOL.

It has always been my belief that the more a person writes, the better a person writes. Keep writing.

I always felt if you want to write better you should read more. And of course practice by writing more.

I've never done much creative writing since I left high school. My writing has been reports for high school, then papers for college and a masters thesis for my first masters. Thankfully the second masters I did a web portfolio. Papers with citations. My National Board portfolio. None of it is what you would call creative or interesting for that matter.

I've never considered myself a creative writer. I wrote two fan fics for the Kompound and it was extremely difficult because it's just not my thing.

But I'm considering trying my hand at a semi-biography now that I am approaching retirement. I'm not sure how much of my career I remember or how interesting I can make it.
