I went to the dentist.  He could get me in at 4:30.  I actually got there around 4, and they were able to take me directly back.  The hurting tooth got x-rayed and examined, and the dentist said that he couldn't see anything wrong with the tooth.  He said that biting down on the popcorn seed had probably bruised the dentin and that it would most likely just gradually go away by itself.

However, he said that the tooth might have a small crack in it that will gradually get worse and have to be dealt with by crowning it or pulling it.  Fuck crowning it.  That's over $400.  I'll have it pulled, which costs $50 if it comes to that!

He also said that if the dentin is inflamed it might cause an abcess to develop which would lead to a root canal and then probably crowning it.  I'd prefer that there be no abcesses.  I had one once before and it was hideously painful.

He thinks that it is most likely just a deep bruise and it will go away on its own, since the bottom tooth had hurt and now doesn't hurt any more.  That would be the best of everything.

i asked him to look at another tooth that has felt "weird" to my tongue--like something was out of place or that there was some kind of notch in the back of my tooth.  He looked at it and it turned out that the filling that had been in that tooth had fallen out.  So, he fixed that.  It didn't take very long.  I was on the road home by 5:00.

The trip to the dentist only cost $131, which is pretty good for x-rays, exam, and filling!  Fortunately, I had enough on my unemployment debit card to take care of the bill.

He suggested I make another appointment for January 4 so he could check the hurting tooth again and also do a dental check up since I haven't had one for over a year.  Hopefully the weather will be good that day and I can get there without any problems.  At this time of year, anything can happen.

I stopped at Culver's on the way home and bought an 8 piece all dark chicken meal for me and my mom.  I think the Culver's chicken is actually better than KFC.  I like their gravy better too.  I had to wait for fifteen minutes while they made the chicken, but I got a cup of hot chocolate to sip while I waited and I had my book along.  I parked close to a light that made it good for reading.

When I got home, Mom and I watched several episodes of Storage Wars while we ate the chicken.  When I was full, I put the stuff away and worked on my little sock sweaters again.  They have turned out very cute.  Last night I was thinking that I could sew ribbons onto them and sell them as Christmas ornaments.

At some point, probably tomorrow, I would like to figure out the exact amount of debt I am in and also how to get out of it asap.  Or, whether I would be better off just saying fuck it all to everything and letting them try to come after me for it.

Not really my first choice, but I never expected to be kicked out of my job and left to scramble for crumbs.  I had been working toward being debt free by the time I could retire.

Just one more thing those fuckers stole from me.

I still have the headache.   I am contemplating taking one of my codeine pain pills primarily for the tooth, but also to kill the headache and help me go to sleep.

Glad about the tooth.

Take it easy. No more popcorn or gnawing on bones. Hopefully it is a bruise and will just go away.

Did he mention anything about grinding your teeth at night? He can make a little guard that you can wear when you sleep to keep your teeth from clenching and grinding.

Boy, you got off cheap. My Dentist charges an arm and a leg. I don't think $113 would cover just the X-rays, let alone the filling and the office visit.

Do not count your house as your debt.

Do not count that student's loan you co-signed as your debt.

If you think you can handle your personal debt without those two, fine. If not, declare bankruptcy and fuck them all. Hopefully, by the time you finally get your retirement, they won't come after you figuring now that you have money, they'll take that too.

If it's free, you might want to consult a bankruptcy lawyer or if there is some sort free government bureau that can advise about that. There may be some non-profit agencies that are set up for that.

You know, you should be getting money back from the IRS. After all, you paid in for six months but you've had pretty much no income for six months, so you sure paid more than you needed to. So that means a bigger refund than normal. Just something to look forward to. Get your taxes done asap you get that W-2. ROC should send it to you in January. NO EXCUSES. Hound them daily if necessary.

Obamacare.

You qualify.

"If you have been uninsured for 6 months because you couldn't afford coverage or had a serious medical condition -- you could enroll in your state's "pre-existing condition insurance pool" and get coverage at a more reasonable rate."
