Date: 2012-02-19 11:05 pm (UTC)I did it twice, actually. Two years ago I was carrying something in both hands along the north side of the house and my feet got tangled in the hose. I went down full force frontways. I did manage to throw whatever I was carrying and brace my fall so my face didn't hit. But my knees and my chest hit full force. I had a big bruise on the knee that took most of it.
Then last summer I was biking to the Farmer's Market and I didn't brake my bike enough to stop and put my foot down and the inertia sent me crashing over. I skinned my knee really badly. One of those sidewalk burn that has both the ooze that turns into a scab and black and blue underneath. It looked really bad. Didn't feel that great either.
I find I trip and fall easier now so I'm more careful when I walk to pick up my feet. Especially in the yard.
Of course, it doesn't help that I'm wearing SAS slide on sandals. I'm sure my shoes are at least 50% of the problem.
I tripped in the yard a few weeks ago, but backwards this time. I gave up trying to catch my balance and just sat down. Luckily mostly on concrete and not on a potted plant.
