Michael, her brother, wanted to do a tent for his GI Joe, but I talked him into a hunting lodge instead. I cut out the bear shape and showed him how to sew it and stuff it with a little fiberfill. I did the head for him--puttingf in the mouth and teeth (thin white cardstock), a black tiny pom pom for the nose, and black beads for the eyes. The "claws are cut from black felt. The tale is another pompom.

His stitches got bigger and bigger, but he's 8 and he loves it. So, it's all good.

Lodge is good. You can make all sorts of furniture and stuff with little twigs. If he saves chicken bones and cleans them, they can be "antlers". I can see making one of those antler chandeliers made entirely of chicken wishbones.

Although his Mom would probably freak.

He might like that part.
