dining room
Mar. 9th, 2012 12:32 amHere you can see the curtains were ripped off the windows. One is waddled up on the floor. The ice breaker from the porch (I left that for them too) is leaning against the window. They ripped the door frame off the kitchen door, and it is laying there in the middle of the dining room floor. There are three inch nails sticking out of it. Makes me wonder about the welfare of their two small boys. One is just a little past one.

These people are utter pigs. I'm sure they do this to every place they live in and move every few months. Too bad there isn't a place for landlords on the internet where you can blacklist them so everyone knows not to rent to them.
Of course, if you took them to small claims court and won, even if you got no money, that would be public record and any landlord doing their due diligence would find the judgement and the reason and know not to rent to them. It's what I'd do, just to screw them.

Have you changed the locks yet? Even if you got the keys back, they probably make duplicates.
Consider yourself lucky they didn't strip the copper, break all the porcelain toilets and rip out the wiring, fixtures, etc. As bad as this is, it could have been a lot worse. At least the walls are in tact.
