Lucas and the kitty
Mar. 23rd, 2012 12:09 pmSince he was a very little boy, Lucas has LOVED kitties. He's never been able to have a kitty of his own. I hope when he graduates and has his own home, one of the first things he gets is a kitty or two. :)

Date: 2012-03-24 05:17 pm (UTC)I tried to have a dog when I was in a condo, but I couldn't really have a dog until I bought my house. Even so, I didn't for the first few years. We had dogs when I was little but after Mitzi, Cuppy's daughter died my Mom said no more. I was already in college by then. So for almost two decades, no dogs. I got Caesar in 1992. Then my brother got a dog. My sister's deadbeat husband had a dog. That died in an "accident" when they moved back here. (strangled to death sticking it's head through a rotten fence gate that should have been repaired. Their last dog was hit by a car after it jumped the fence because it was deathly afraid of fireworks and they put the dog in the back yard in the DARK during the fireworks. My sister is a fucking asshole.) My parents took Goliath after Caesar died and Goliath's aggression against the new puppy was increasing instead of decreasing. Goliath lived for six months. My Dad loved that dog. Three months after Goliath died my Mom said she wouldn't mind having a dog again, so my sister and I started looking. Took us two months. They've had Candy ever since.
Now while you really need a house with a yard for a dog (unless it's a little one or you have the time to walk them a lot) cats are easier. But here even cats aren't allowed in every rental. They're easier, but not guaranteed. If he wants a cat, he'll find a way to have one. He can find a place that will allow him to have a cat.
But it wouldn't hurt for Auntie Cheryl to put the bug in his ear.

Date: 2012-03-24 07:25 pm (UTC)I get the jones for a kitten every time I see one, but three is really all I can reasonably give time and affection to. They are pretty good kitties and share me well.
