Princess Room, View 1
Jun. 3rd, 2012 12:52 amThis is the right side of the "Princess Room." In this corner is the bed which is intended for a full-sized Barbie It's made from a cut-down box from Barnes and Noble. The box was all held together and completely covered by white duct tape. Then, I put a layer of fuscia pink felt On each side and stitched some wide eyelet lace around the edges. I tied tiny ribbons to the corners for a little pizzazz.
The mattress is made of some gross looking cushion-stuff that Ellie brought over. That was covered with pale pink felt and then by the pretty, dainty pink fabric as a bottom sheet. The comforter is that same fabric with an accent of the same eyelet lace at the head of the comforter. Translucent pale pink ribbons decorate that. The pink pillow cases match the sheets. And they also have an accent of the translucent pale pink ribbon on the edges of the cases.
Above the head of the bed is a castle made of flat wood. I got that at Hobby Lobby--it was about 67 cents. The little white flowers with the "diamond" in the center are from the scrapbooking section--they came in a huge envelope, so I used them liberally in my design.
The rose/sunflower/blueberry border at the top of the room is also from the scrapbooking aisle. I think it makes the room look more "finished" and hides any rough edge where the pink scrapbook paper "wallpaper" meet. on the side wall, is a crown, also from the Hobby Lobby.
The table and chairs I'll describe in another picture.
