Princess Room View 12
Jun. 3rd, 2012 01:24 amJust another slightly different view. I sent pictures via text to my cousin's wife so she could show them how cute it was. Apparently little Hailey thought it was so awesome that she asked Cynthia to call me and tell me about it as she was too shy to tell me herself.
That was a nice feeling.

It really does look like a miniature room.
This is what little girls need to do. If they can't have it in real life, create it and then dream of living in it. Our children need to have their dreams. It also wouldn't hurt for them to have some creative activities like making stuff rather than just pushing buttons.

Date: 2012-06-04 08:47 am (UTC)Diane does a lot of shopping at thrift stores and rummage sales, and Cynthia is on the look out for fabric and wallpaper scraps and other fun things. She found a ceramic baby crib that had probably once been a center piece at a baby shower--probably contained a plant or flower arrangement. She brought it to my house and we scrubbed it up and made a mattress and bedding for it. Now one of her little baby dolls sleeps in it. That was the room which we made a changing table out of a vaseline jar. That turned out really cute. :)
She wants to do an Egyptian themed living room--that made me think of you.
I looked at Hobby Lobby for some Egyptian scrapbooking stuff--but there was nothing at all. I thought surely I'd find at least a sphinx and a pyramid. I'll have to keep looking. I haven't been to Michaels Craft shop in a helluva long time. Perhaps it is time to take a trip there.
