I don't know any of these kids, but they were enjoying Ron's company. Remember Ron the rat? Ron is aging, poor old guy, but he is still delighted by attention and very friendly.

They were sweet kids and we had a good chat about the dragon bouncy castle that Bert and Tammy had rented for the kids to jump around in and about the rat.

OMG! I had a rat just like that. (I don't have any pictures *sniff*).

Her name was Madame Curious. She died when she wasn't quite 2 years old. Breast cancer.

Rats are very clean and highly intelligent. They make great pets. That is a hooded rat, domesticated for ages. Unfortunately, they have very short lifespans.

Ron is going on three. That's pretty good for a rat.

He's a lovely little fellow.

That is really old for a rat. He's the equivalent of 90 years old. There have been a few rats to make it to 4 but 2 years is the average. Apparently one rat lived to be 7 but that is an anomoly.

In the wild they usually die before the age of one year.

I hope Ron lives as long as Mr. Jingles in the Green Mile, a very long and happy one.
