The plaque that goes with the statue
Aug. 1st, 2012 12:23 amI believe that this "Dr. Tim Peterson" is a relative of mine--and I believe I have heard that he was corrupt.
I can't remember all the details, but it seems I heard that he had convinced his congregation to "trust in God" and sell all their cars and give the money to "the church." He sold his car as well.
When this was all said and done, he showed up with a brand new car strutting about how God "blessed him" for his faithfulness.
Hmmm....
Seems rather fishy to me.
Now, I am not sure about the whole deal as it was many years ago that I heard this--but I really do not trust that kind of preacher. Whether he is related to me or not.

Date: 2012-08-01 05:49 am (UTC)Were they ordained by a legitimate religious institution? Did they both attend a legitimate divinity school? Or were they "self-ordained" because they were "called".
Was he even a doctor of divinity? Or did he buy that PhD or whatever degree to get that title?
I think the most disturbing thing about that bronze statue is the paint job. The paint job on the horse is just awful. Reeks of a lousy artist and a lousy work of art. A real bronze stands on it's own. If it's treated with a patina, it's usually very subtle. Not garish.
