Some Random Thoughts and Comments.
Jul. 30th, 2008 12:56 am First, it has been a while since I have posted a picture of my "baby kitty".... who happens to be about 16 years old.

Her continuous puking the last week has made me want to turn her inside out...but she is awfully sweet. Look how that little paw cradles her furry little cheek. She is a good girl, despite her only hobby--puking everywhere.
This is my new addition--got her cheap on EBAY while I was in Detroit. I am sending her to a doll collector buddy who lives in Oregon to have her "freckle" her. This gal does amazingly realistic freckles. I can't wait to see how she looks with a cute little freckled face. The minute I saw her on EBAY, I knew I had to have her. Fortunately, she didn't go too high. I'm calling her Erin.

The outfit she is wearing is going to a doll collector friend as part of the "June is Dairy Month" swap. I had a thin denim shirt that I just loved, but it was too tight across the mammary region. So, I cut it up and made it into doll clothes. I made that cow jumping over the moon fabric sticker out of special computer paper. I can now make shirts with any design on them. All I do is google what I want.
Speaking of my time in Detroit--I took Annalee and Savannah with me. Here they are sitting in the basket of complimentary coffee packets on my desk in the hotel room.

Note my pill caddies--I DID take my meds while in Detroit!
I got a packet of Raggedy Ann and Andy quilting fabrics at JoAnne Fabrics a while back. I made these "BFF" outfits with halter tops featuring raggedy Ann on one and Raggedy Andy on he other The shorts are red and say "Raggedy Ann" and "Raggedy Andy" all over them. The halter tops are reversible and have the short fabric on the other side.
I think these two little outfits may be a couple of the most adorable I have ever made.
And speaking of doll outfits I have made....

We had a patriotic swap in one of my Marley groups, and this is the trio of outfits I made for my partner.
The outfits are all mix-n-match, compatible with each other, and each of the tops is reversible. One side is the red-white-blue print, and the other is red with a fabric iron on decorating it. Note that Madison is wearing the ribbon top with Underdog on it. Claire is in the capri pants and halter, and Grace is wearing a wrap around skirt and a cute little shirt that has a curved back. I should have taken a picture from the back to show it, but I didn't.

Here is Rosie showing the reverse side of the halter top--Donald looks patriotic in his sailor suit, I think. :)

And here she is again, with the reverse of the other top. I also gave my swap partner a pair of red capris and a pair of red short shorts. The reverse of the skirt was also red.
My swap partner was very very happy with her swap. I am still waiting on receiving mine, but Nancy always gives a good swap in return, so I am really looking forward to seeing what she sends me.
Next we have Simon Stone and his young friend wearing shirts with more fabric iron-on art.

It just doesn't get cuter than Bullwinkle and Rocky the Flying Squirrel dressed up like Batman and Robin!
The little boy was a Mowgli doll that I got cheap cheap. I sold Baloo (the big blue bear he came with) to a lady in England, so he was even cheaper. I want to call him Paco, but every time I look at him, I hear his voice in my mind, telling me his name is Hector. I don't even LIKE the name Hector. I like Paco!!
You may get the idea that I adore Underdog....lol...because I do.
I did work on my Teddy Bear Room today--I picked up all the fabric that was scattered everywhere and folded it and put it neatly away in the plastic drawers on that rolling cart. I had to take out and refold all the fabric that was already in there because I had pawed through it a couple times looking for specific items.
I also put most of my Tonner dolls on the shelves of the bookcases rather than allowing them to lie in a messy pile on the desk which I want to take to the kitchen soon.
I have made a wider walk way in that room, and tomorrow I must go in with a bucket of hot chlorox clean up water and scrub up the three puddles of dried puke I found behind stuff in there. Just couldn't deal with it tonight.
Sigh
I also cleaned out a couple of boxes of stuff in there, threw some paper crap away, and have organized the shoes of my Tonner dolls in a cute little plastic box with five drawers. (At least, I organized the shoes I have run across so far...there may be more...)
I may need to buy another one. I didn't realize how many shoes I had.
I am in the mood to clean.
I was invited to friends' house for supper tonight, but I was so into cleaning that I didn't want to stop.
Also, I was in my pjs and didn't feel like getting dressed.
